I am looking into buying the canon 400 elph camera. But I was wondering if anyone on the boards owns this particular camera and how do you like it? My DH works with someone who purchased the camera and she HATED IT and actually threw it out and purchased a sony. So I am now completely confused and do not know what to do. :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

I bought a Canon SD400 and just love it. I know it has its limitations with zoom and all that, but it really all depends on what's important to you. The main reason why I bought it was for its size. I've taken it on different vacations, including ski trips. I even just take it with me in my purse for those ordinary events in life that need to be captured. Very convenient!

My friend has the SD550 and loves hers too.

Have you posted your question on the photography board? That might help.

I bought DH a SD 300, mainly for the size, and it's OK camera. IMHO there are better point and shoot cameras out there.

DH took this picture with it of an Air Force Academy Falcon

we have the SD 400 and love it. It's a nice, small, point & shoot and we take it most everywhere. Of course now that we have our DSLR, the SD 400 might take the back burner, but it's great to throw in your purse and tote around. We didn't feel the need for more megapixels in a P&S. I recommend it if you're considering it! :)

I personally don't like the ELPH due to its miniscule size, but actually throwing it away for a Sony? That's girl's head needs to be examined.

I bought the SD400 for the repo cruise -- love it's size, our old camera was just too big to carry around. My dd uses it more than anyone -- does lots of short videos, including one of me pushing the "Mickey horn" button on my birthday.

I don't try to print the photos at home, but take the card to one of the Kodak kiosks and do it there. We've been really happy with them.

Thank you everyone for the great responses towards the camera, I think I can make a decision finally and be comfortable with it!!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Same situation here, my 320 sat in the back burner for a while, then I bought the Canon waterproof case and now using it quite a bit.
