Does anyone have this camera, if so, how do you like it? Please share whatever info you can with me about it. Thanks! I would love to see some pics if you them.

Thank-you for the links, I had looked at them. Was just wondering if anyone here had any first hand accounts with the camera. :)

It is pretty new. You would probably find more info on any particular model over on the DPReview boards. You can also search them pretty well if you do not feel like posting.

Hi Laura,

I bought an A710IS last month, and just returned from a trip to FL, including a long weekend at WDW. I'm currently trying to catch up at work, but I'll try to post my thoughts about the camera plus a link to some photos this weekend.

I have the 710IS.. was an upgrade for us because I had lost our G2 (but later was found, long story..)

If you've ever had a Canon before, the function of it's pretty similar to what you're used to - I like the jog dial and how the menus are setup.

For me, it's more functional than the SD line (i like to mess with manual settings at some point), and smaller than the bigger ones (G line, and SLR cameras)... fits very nicely in the palm and is light. Rechargeable batteries to me is a definite +

I'm not a 'very serious' photographer, but I think it works great for P&S.. the zoom range (35-200) is very nice. I think the pictures look good and sharp.. I'll see if I can upload some pics online here also

I have this camera and brought it to WDW in November. Here are some photos taken with it. I think the camera is just okay. Perhaps I didn't spend enough time becoming familiar with it before I used it, and many of the issues I had were all user-related. I probably should have practiced more with different settings, and learning how the camera meters different light situations, etc. I discovered that the camera wasn't always focusing on what I wanted it to focus on - and I guess I didn't pay enough attention to that to adjust for it. Also, I am accustomed to the low-light capabilities of a DSLR, and my attempts to push this little camera beyond its limits were understandably unsuccessful. The noise level at higher ISO is pretty bad. However, I loved the fact that I could just slip it into my pocket rather than carry around my usual heavy camera equipment. It's a nice little camera with a good feature set, but I think there are others with better image quality.

I've had the Canon A710 for about three months. I have no complaints other than the slow flash recycle time. The farther away you are from the subject, the longer the recycle time. I knew about this before I purchased so it wasn't a big deal. I love everything else about this camera. It's very easy to use;the menus and buttons are logically placed.

I've put a few pictures online:
