Anyone shoot with this lens ? Any feedback I have read all the internet reviews but nothing like getting something from you folks.

I've got one. It seems to do a pretty good job. I haven't noticed any serious problems with vignetting, going soft wide open, etc. The build quality is very nice. The hood is a joke. If you shoot with a 1.6x camera, I'd get the hood for the 24mm and use it.

If you plan on using it for panoramics, know that the nodal point at 17mm is very far forward. I'd swear that it's actually in front of the lens, if that's possible.

Thanks for the feedback -- and yea I would be using it with a 20D... thanks to my service plan I just put a new shutter on her and she is itching to snap away.

May I ask how many actuations you got out of the original shutter?

I never got the final count total -- but about 2 months before it gave out it was up around 73,000.

I guess i was lucky because i hear it should be less on the 20D.

Well both of my 20D bodies are in the 40k range, I am a bit concerned because they are supposed to be rated at 50k but I have heard stories of them going strong well over 100k. And I have never actually heard of any failing b4 50k.
