Hi all! I figured this is probably the right place to ask this, if not mod's please move me. Has anyone ever rented a canoe at the Fort? Is the river long enough to paddle around for an hour? Can you make a complete loop or do you have to turn around? I've always thought this would be fun to do here, but never make it over! TIA

Yes, we've rented canoes. You start from the bike barn on the lake, and there is a network of canals to explore. There is a complete loop...you don't have to backtrack. When you rent they will suggest where to go. We found we could kill an hour pretty easily.

My wife once asked me, "Do you think we are able to paddle one of those things for a hour ?"
At which I answered, "I can,,,ca-noe ?" :lmao:

okay,,lame attempt at a laugh,,but I tried.:rolleyes1

That is always on our list of "to do" items. Along with the wagon ride. We just never seem to fit them in. So much to do and never a long enough vacation. Two weeks would be my dream trip. However I don't want to use up all our vacation time at once so we will just have to try harder to fit more stuff in. Going back over July 4th.

Thanks for the responses :goodvibes I'll definitely be to doing this on my next trip!
