I'll be coming from the Cape early Sun. morning and picking up Karen on the way up 93. Aiming for just before 11am in CLP parking lot, depending on traffic of course...

Just an FYI. The gates open at 10:00 a.m. but the rides don't start until 12:00 noon. Even at 10:30 a.m., they have people directing cars where to park - usually not near the white roller coaster. Tailgating should be a little discreet as they have a sign posted at the entrance "No picknicking". Make sure you bring your bathing suits as they have a swimming pool plus a new water park (I haven't seen it yet, but I think it's like the Six Flags water park.) Is there a list yet of who may be going?

HI All

It will be DD, Julia (9) and me attending and are looking foward to meeting you all. I am a little confused...is there a set time that we are meeting and if the attendants are directing us where to park, how are we meeting up? I assume we would all want to park together. I wonder if we were to say we a re having a family reunion or such they would let us park at the roller coaster? Just a thought.

If it is as hot next Sunday as it is today, we are going to need that water park

We're going to try REAL hard to make it. DD14 comes home from her first trip w/o the rest of the family Friday night. Saturday DD 2 birthday party. If I'm not passed out on the floor from stress we will all be there! lol
myself, DH, DS14, DS14, DD14, DD2. I hope all goes smooth. I am really looking forward to meeting everyone, as I've only met 1 diser before.

Oh man I hate planning things!!! How about this....those of us that are there at 11:00, look for the DIS green ribbons in the parking lot. Then we can hang out and chat, (and eat on the QT) and then we can plan on meeting any late arrivals by the rollercoaster (inside the park) at a preset time? I am so NOT imaginative or creative when it comes to things like this. So, any other thought out there? So far it looks like my dd, almost 12, and dh will be joining me.

I sent Karen a pm this morning but haven't heard back from her yet. The thing with looking for ribbons in the parking lot is we have no idea how big the lot is and where each car will be directed and Cindy posted there is a sign that says NO Picnics allowed.

From what I understand they'll allow you inside the park after 10am, just no rides until noon. That's why I thought if we can bring in our sandwiches in our bags, we could find a picnic table somewhere near the lake and eat/chat there. That way we're in a central location and not breaking any rules.

Just my thoughts - anyone else??? Anyone who has been fairly recently and might know what is possible???

Hi everyone - just checking in - I think my family and I will be able to make it!! YAHOO!! It will be DH, DD (14), DD (9), DS (1), and myself. Not sure what time we will get there but we will be on the lookout for any lime green!! (BTW-If I remember correctly from last year, I don't think they allow food or picnics to be brought in - they want you to spend $ at their concession stands).

I just double-checked the map of CLP. There really doesn't seem to be a great spot for any type of picnicing...so...how about we just meet at 11:00 at the Portofino Restaurant over by the lake? At least that's what it looks like the name is!! It seems to be in the upper right hand corner of the park by the lake. If you want to buy something to eat, you can. Or maybe if you bring in something you could get away with eating it at an outside table with those who have bought park food (like me!!). Then we could hang there for a bit to catch any late comers. Thoughts??
