We are going with DD9 in August for 9 nights. Our dinners include Garden Grill (DD9's choice for her birthday, can't change it), Hoop de Doo and the Luau. In addition, our sit down dinners are:

Coral Reef
Narcoossee
Brown Derby/Fantasimic
Jiko
Flying Fish
California Grill

I would really like to try the Yachtsman. Is any one of the above worth giving up so that we could squeeze the Yachtsman in? :confused3

I'd leave your plans the way they are and make sure and hit Yachtsman next trip =)

Those are great dinner plans! I'd leave them alone too and do Yachtsmen another time.

If you can't fit in YSH you aren't trying hard enough. :lmao:

Seriously, YSH is a great restaurant and we try to hit it every second visit (alternating with Artist Point). Fortunately we visit 4 times a year so we get to go there frequently. You may want to trade the Luau for YSH. We've done that and its just ok.

Well it sounds like the Luau might be for the daughter so I'm not sure the OP can change that one.

What about giving up Coral Reef for Yachtsman? I mean CR is good but you've already got quite a few other seafood restaurants on your plans or at least ones that offer good seafood selections. So why not replace Coral with a steakhouse?

I almost did that, but then in the past few days I spoke with a couple of recent WDW vacationers who told me how abosutely wonderful CR was, especially for kids! Since we are on the DlxDP, I also thought about changing CR to a lunch, and getting YS in for dinner that way. However, I would then have to give up lunch at either Biergarten or LeCellier.

Decisions, decisions . . .

I'd pass on Coral Reef for a chance at Yachtsman. The only things we liked there were the atmosphere and dessert.

We are not impressedwith FF for some reason, DDP credit issues, slow service & arrogant waiter. I so wanted to love this place & keep trying but the same issues arise each time:confused3 We are doing YSH next week, DH can't wait for the porterhouse:rotfl:

Personally, I much prefer the YSH to FF.

ditto on this one, not overlly impressed with FF, but LUV YSH! We have always had great service, great food, and it's quiter atmosphere... (also request Thomas, the waiter....a gentleman for sure...:thumbsup2

Just got back on Tues from 10 days in the world. Had dinner at both LeCellier and Yachtsman on DDP. While the steak at Yachtsman(1st time there) was better than LeCellier(a must every trip), it was not that much better to burn 2TS for Yachtsman. However should LeCellier eventually become a 2TS restaurant then Yachtsman will become my must do restaurant every trip.(JMO):smokin:

I hate to overtake this thread, but what is with all the negativity toward FF? I was thinking about going there for the first time later this year because I had heard nothing but stellar reviews. But it seems like this thread has caused some doubt.

Is it the quality of the food? the service? the price? the ambiance? what's wrong with FF?

FWIW - I would keep the Coral Reef - the food is OK, the service is a bit slow so allow plenty of time, but the atmosphere is one-of-a-kind. Since you are celebrating you DD b-day this trip, why not try to arrange for her to get a customized menu and diver with a sign?
