I have a Canon A620 that does not show anything on the screen. Could this be the CCD card and can anything be done about it? thanks

Which Photoshop version is the easiest to use for editing photos? I have never used one before.

Can you take pictures and view them on the computer? Really, it could be a lot of things. The only way to know for sure is going to be to have it checked out.

As far as photoshop... Photoshop Elements is the version aimed at the home user.

I had the CCD die on my A620. The LCD would display the menu, but all photos were blank on the LCD display and blank when using a card reader.

If this is the case with your camera, it's unrepairable. Time for a new camera!

If you're planning to replace the camera with another Canon, you may want to check out the Canon Loyalty Program. I've not done it myself, but they'll apparently give you a 20% discount on a refurbished camera if you turn in a broken Canon camera. (866) 443-8002, option "2".

There are no details regarding the CLP on the Canon USA web site, but I did find this via Google. http://www.overclock.net/t/1088761/canon-loyalty-program-faqs-originally-from-potn The post is a year old, but there have been some updates to it in the past few months.
