Cane pole fishing at the Boardwalk?

I know that there is Cane Pole fishing at POR, but I read somwhere, that you can also rent poles at the Boardwalk, Downtown Disney and Coronado Springs Resort. We will be staying at POR and the Beach Club on our next trip, and since we are close to the Boardwalk, I am wondering, if my grandson will be able to fish at the Boardwalk? Thanks

I had a similar question posted over in Theme parks and was told they no longer have dokc fishing in DTD. My dad was looking forward to doing this. Maybe he can fish at the Boardwalk were planning on going there 1 day to look around and shop.

The '2005' edition of Birnbaum's Walt Disney World states that fishing poles can be rented at Port Orleans riverside (which we have done and caught a lot of fish, but get up early) and also at Downtown Disney Marketplace and also the Boardwalk. This is the official guide. Although sometimes the minute it appears in print, it becomes obsolete. You can fish at Port Orleans Riverside, iI believe, even if you are not staying there. Birnbaum also states th Fort Wilderness bike barn rents poles. No license is needed.
