DH and I have watched from a distance but now that we are taking our 2 nieces we thought they would like to try and get one made for them. We are planning on a Friday in January...anyone know what times she is out and is there a way to get the girls chosen for a candy?

The following site posts the stage shows, in-park and other on-property shows and their times for the CURRENT week.
(It is updated every weekend.)
The times may be "similar" for other dates as well.

This is a great site to keep BOOKMARKED for future reference.

Near the top of the page,
click on the colored links for the various parks
and their show times.

Be sure to check back to the site as the actual dates of your trip get closer.

Look under Epcot World Showcase, Japan, for
Miyuki.

(typical listing)
Miyuki
Japanese candy artistry from Asakusa, Tokyo.
Sunday-Wednesday at 12:55, 2:15, 4:00, 5:05, 6:15 & 6:55pm
Thursday at 12:15, 12:55, 2:15, 4:00, 5:05 & 6:15pm
Length of show: 20 minutes

Try to get to her stand about 20 or 30 minutes before her show so you can get a place up front. She picks the kids, but she will only make 1 per family and tells them to share. It is really incredible to watch her.

Try and get there a little early so you can try to be towards the front. That's how I got mine! Well, actually I got one as a gift for my friend. He's obsessed with manatees and I got him one. It looked just like one!! Also, she did say that its one candy per group, so your nieces might have to share.

I got chosen to have a candy animal made on my trip this past November. Make sure you're at the front, be patient and polite. Raise your hand.. but don't be overly eager or make lots of noise. Miyuki won't pick people who are being rude, pushy or yelling out. I chose a pink pegasus.... it was amazing to watch he make it! Definitely one my most magical memories from my trip. :wizard:

Same with us. We were there about 30 minutes before she started, and like previous posters have said, she won't pick people being rude or loud. Here are a couple of photos from our trip last April.

wow! she made you a candy sergio!

she does do it for adults as well. she goes to key points along the rope typically. it should be obvious when you get there.

She made a manatee when we last watched her show! How funny!

I concur with the get there early rule. Its almost like she is looking to see who is out there. If you aren't fortunate enough to receive a candy sculpture, sometimes if you go to the next show she will recognize you and treat you! My DD was given one on each of our last 2 trips. The first time we watched two shows before she was picked.

Its VERY hard to not look like you really, really want one, but the more that you "push" the less likely you are to receive.

Good luck :thumbsup2

Thanks you guys! The girls get along very well so I am sure they would not mind sharing! I appreciate the tips and the link Robo!

When we were there in August we arrived about 20 minutes early. Miyuki's stand wasn't even out yet. We just waited, and once her stand was in place and the ropes were up we stood right up front. When Miyuki came out DS politely said hello to her. She chose him for the first sculpture. He asked for Godzilla. After the show one of the ladies in the shop wrapped his sculpture and put it in a box. We actually made it back home with the sculpture in one piece! :)

I don't really want the candy, but watching her is amazing. That is like an attraction itself. :)

I agree about getting there 20 minutes early.

We've always missed her shows but this time I am determined to get to see Miyuki at work. I know DD would probably love to get one of the candy creations, but I think she would be just as excited to see these amazing sculptures come to life. :goodvibes

I remember from our last visit though that Miyuki does not appear every day (we learnt that the hard way :headache: ) I agree with Robo that it's best to check Steve's site a few days before you go, to make sure that she's going to be appearing on your planned Epcot day. ;)

We've missed her the past 3 trips! I keep forgetting to put it on my little index cards! You know I put my adr's, the shows/fireworks, which rides we want to hit...etc..but I always forget the individual countries in Epcot! This time, I'm printing out Steve's site and adding it ALL in! We've got 3 full days at Epcot...so I better have at least one chance to see her....don't necessarily "want" the candy....but I want to see her in action!

I get a kick out of the way she chatters away while making her candy sculptures. She really is talented. We have never been lucky enough to get a candy from her. Maybe this March. If not, oh well. It is fun just to watch her make them.

When were you there? Maybe it was me! lol Not to be too corny, it is a small world after all. :rotfl:

December 7 of last year. I think she gave it to a little girl, which probably isn't you. I could be wrong, though. It's happened once or twice. ;)

She's so cute! I like her little narrations, too. She really is very entertaining to watch.

We went around the rest of our trip saying, "Japanese candy, present for you! Shiny candy, so sweet."

I made sure DSs understood that this was a show. It was going to be fun to watch her make the candy. I told them lots of people watch, but only a few get picked. One DS is very creative and artistic, so he was really into it. Just in case, I asked him to have in mind what animal he might like her to make for him if he got picked. Oh, and I had my super-cute DH stand with DSs and I stood back so other folks could stand up front and so I could get a good picture in case he got picked. Yes, I pimped him out, and it worked!:lovestruc She made an elephant for my DS.

I have never seen this show - I need to put it on my wishlist for May!

We took my niece in Feb., and she could have watched this for hours.

I was more amused by the crowd, sometimes another child about her age (9) would walk over to see what we were all watching and get bored very quickly. I remember one kid whining how boring it was, and his dad saying, "come one, let's go look for a roller coaster." Yeah, good luck with that!
