We have been to WS numerous times. A first for us -- We saw the Candy Lady last night!
And what timing. We literally just stepped under the roofed area where she was and rain POURED from the sky! :scared1: It was as if someone turned the faucts on full blast.

Watching Japan's candy lady is truly amazing. DH never even heard of her, so it was an extra surprise to him.

Who can tell me more about the candy lady, and if she has a regular schedule of appearences?

TIA :grouphug: and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!! :santa:

Yes, she does make scheduled appearances. She's listed on the EPCOT schedule as Miyuko(sp?). I wish they would sell her handmade candies. My kids really wanted some candy, but there are so many people, they never got picked. She's amazing and you should listen to what she says. To me it's pretty funny in an amusing way.

Shes wonderful (the candy tastes horrible) but the figures are amazing. We've had a lion, bird and octopus that I can remember. She tends to do children first but is kind enough to slot DH in as he usualy can't get near in his chair.:wizard:

I agree she is AMAZING! Would not have known to look for her if it wasn't for the DIS boards!

Her show times are posted on the sign in Japan. She is awesome to watch. I don't think I would eat the candy either.

I've heard of her but I don't know about her, does she make figures out of candy? can you request what she makes? can you buy it afterwards?

Thanks

My kids love the candy, they can't wait to eat it. She actually likes when it gets eaten, that's what it is made for, to eat. We take pics of the candy and the kids, and they eat away!!

Last summer DS got picked from the crowd to get a piece of candy from her. He asked for a scorpion and it looked awesome! He loved going up and watching her make it and picking his colors. She even gave him a little bit to taste which he did in all seriousness with a nod. Afterwards he said it tasted gross and I was proud of him for eating it and not saying anything!!!

We carried that scorpion all over Epcot and brought it home with us. It lasted for a few months before being broken by some friends who were handling it.

This was a great experience and the candy lady is funny and wonderful. One of the many things that makes Epcot our favorite park.

We were ther the first week in December. The first time we waited thru her whole show and didn't get picked my son was very disappointed. She told him to come back so He did. She made him a beautiful octopus. I was nervous carrying it around. We stopped in Canada and a girl at one of the booths packaged it up for us in a box. Unfortunately, it still got broke and I was afraid to tell my son, but he didn't even care. He just wanted the experience of having her make it. We all took tastes and were not thrilled with it. We do have a lot of pictures of it thank goodness.

She was awesome!!! This was the first time we had a chance to watch her show. It is now a must see for us.:goodvibes
