Candy Canes

I was wondering if a Candy Cane day is a Magic Morning day, does that mean that all the Magic Morning guests will get first dibs on the vouchers? That would also include all guests of the Disney hotels, and would NOT allow anyone with an Annual Pass to get one during the first hour.
I assume they would all be gone by the time general admission starts.

Any ideas?

I don't know how they are going to handle that, however, only 1 date is a MM.

someone correct me if I am mistaken (I am sure you all will!)--

but I *think* the ones at pooh corner or other places around the park are not the same ones that are made by hand that everyone is talking about getting a voucher for.

I have had both--the kind you can buy at regular stores in DLR, (I think these are machine made and mass produced) and the handmade variety. I got the handmade variety from the candy store purely by accident one year. There was a big line and I just jumped in it--and when I saw everyone was buying the handmade candy canes I got one too. Right after me they ran out.

It tasted handmade and a bit different than a regular candy cane--but I don't really think it is worth all the fuss. (ducks from all the candy cane lovers throwing shoes at me!).

We will be there one of the days they are handing out vouchers (we are going Dec. 8-10), so if we may try to get a few if it isn't too crazy.

Hmmm... this is interesting. I just happened to be at Pooh Corner today and at the checkout were three gorgeous, enormous candy canes. I asked the CM if these were the candy canes that were made in the park and she said that she had to look at the tag. After looking at the tag she declared that these were the ones made in the park and that I must have been to DL before if I knew about the handmade candy canes. I just went to look at the tag on the candy cane and it says "Hand Crafted Candy Cane". Now I don't care one way or the other if it turns out that this is not, in fact, THE candy cane everyone is talking about. I didn't really plan to wait in line for a candy cane and I just bought these because they looked so pretty. I just thought I would post that information in case it helped anyone else out. :thumbsup2

Oh... and they were $12.95 each (or something along those lines).

I received a wrist band for the second batch. I have to come back after 11:30am and no later than 4pm. :)

Yay! I thought they opened at 9:00am today? Did you get in early?
Please let us know how they handed out the vouchers at the turnstiles! Thanks!
Yes-park opens at 9am.
They did not hand out vouchers at the turnstiles. Everyone queued up at the candy Palace. There, they distributed wrist bands

Park opening now!
(They let you in on main street USA-prior to opening up the rides)

Oh...boo...
The information that has been circulating is that Disneyland would be handing out vouchers at the turnstiles so that you don't have to line up at the Candy Shop. I thought that would be easier in some respects.
Oh well!

Thanks so much for letting us know about the wristbands!

Thanks for letting us know! I will be there on Friday, if you don't mind me asking How early did you arrive at the gates? Were there a lot of people waiting for candy canes that ran over to the candy store to line up for the wristbands?

I arrived at the security check point around 7:40am. There were just a few people in line at that time. I didn't recognize anyone in the candy cane line from the previous line. (there were about 60 ahead of me)

I'm watching them make my candy cane now. :)
They just started the second batch. They will make one more batch after this one today.

I am still so disappointed they are only making these through the 21st. We arrive that morning and this one has been on our must do list for the last year and a half.

We arrive that day too. I was so hoping they'd make a batch while we were there.

Was also really hoping they would really hand them out at the turnstiles... my Mom had surgery on her foot so she will be unable to make any mad dashes with me to the candy store... Luckily my Dad will be able to take care of her but I still will feel like a heel dashing off to get in line and having only me get a wristband if Im so lucky.... :headache:

I did read on another site, the big candy canes you buy from places like Pooh corner, are made in Florida. I bet they are still hand made (don't know that for sure) just not in Disneyland that day, but I bet it would be hard to tell the difference. we will still be lining up next friday and the following monday to get ours.

I saw the giant candy canes at Pooh Corner on the last day of our visit and they DID say hand-made. I didn't purchase one (they looked pretty but did not look brand new and fresh--they just looked like giant regular candy canes to me).
