How long does the CCI shuttle run once the park closes? The site says during park operating hours, but we are usually on the rides until it closes and I want to do a little shopping on Main Street. TIA!

Hmmm, I'm pretty sure they make a couple runs after closing but can't remember exactly. I want to say that it was a last pickup at 12:40 when the park closed at midnight....hmmmmmmmm I don't remember 100% tho.

I remember the driver announcing that he would continue running either 45 minutes or an hour after the park closes.

Do you need to take the shuttle? I heard it was a really short walk, how long would it be from either park exit to the Inn?

It's not "really" short. As for park exits...there's only one exit from DL, which would put you in the esplanade. If you're in DCA, you exit at the esplanade or through GCH.

From the esplanade you'd want to go out to Harbor, turn right, all the way down to Katella and turn right. If you left DCA through GCH, you'd go through GCH through the big pretty doors, out the driveway, left, down to Katella, turn left, and all the way down to the motel.

Here is a basic map that shows you the basic rectangle of the parks and where you'd walk.

Candy Cane Lane is adjacent to the southeast corner of DLR and is next to the south side of Timon parking lot. According to Google it is a half mile walk to the street entrance to DLR then add about 1000 feet to the park entrance for about a .7 mile walk and it is on the DLR side of the street. If you are out that late and do not want to walk there is a cab stand on site just east of the hotel shuttle area.

It is walkable but at night it's better to just take the shuttle. Unless you are in supreme walking shape, then just walk.

I believe that the last pick up is 45 minutes after posted park closing.

I don't mind walking in the morning, but I sure don't like to at night, although we always end up walking back the last night we are there because we miss the last shuttle.;)

just returned from DL and the Candy Cane. The shuttle was running 45 min. after closing. Though you could walk it. We never did that at night but it seemed safe enough in daylight hours. It's just 2 long blocks. Took us about 10 min. maybe.

Just back from Candy Cane Inn, and we wore our pedometers during our trip. The walk from the Candy Cane Inn to the DL entrance gate (past the tram, pass the shuttle docks, pass the security check point) was .80 miles ( just under 1 mile). Walking to the parks was a piece of cake. Walking back to the motel after racking up 9 miles/day at the parks was not an option. We always took the shuttle back to the motel. The last pick up from the parks to the Candy Cane Inn was 12:45am. DL closed at midnight, Mainstreet shopping closed at 12:30am.

I thought I'd add my 3 cents. :)

I especially loved the CCI shuttle for the mid day break. Never full, & never a wait if you timed your arrival properly. Not having to make that (apparently) 1.5 mile walk at mid day was a huge benefit.

We always walked from the CCI to DL in the morning & sometimes rode it back to CCI at night & sometimes walked back to the CCI at night depending on the time & how we felt. fwiw.

We just went in March and we didn't take the shuttle once. We were totally comfortable walking back at night because there are tons of people out walking and loads of traffic. Seriously, it was only about 15 mins to walk it.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts on the shuttle and walking. We will be staying there at the Candy Cane Inn two weeks.
