I recently had a solo trip to Disneyland and stayed Feb. 2 - 4. I booked a regular room at the Candy Cane Inn.
I stayed in the standard room. I had asked for a room near the lobby and got a room facing Harbor. It wasn't too noisy and I had no issues sleeping. I do like to sleep in a dark room and felt the shutters were insufficient to block out light. Not sure if this would be a deal breaker for me.
Otherwise my stay was great. The breakfast was great and included ham/cheese croissants, boiled eggs, fruit, etc. No hot items but I didn't really miss them. I took a tray back to my room.
The regular room was small and I wouldn't recommend it for more than a maximum of three people.
The regular room I was in is set up differently from the Premium room that is pictured on the website. No sink outside the bathroom.
I used the trolley a lot and found it reliable and never really crowded. It had plenty of room to take a folded stroller if necessary.
If you have any further questions, I'd be happy to answer.

You had a microwave in regular room? That’s new…and AWESOME.
Which side were you on…close to the little store or bordering Disney property?
these are actually my fave rooms..nice and close to everything.

Those premium rooms are like a mile from the front…lol slight exaggeration but even walking to the ice machines is a long way from the front.

I’ll be there in two months…can’t wait to see my new room!

Wow. Your standard room was much different than our standard room! Had no idea the room types varied that much for the same category. Thanks for the photos!

My room was 101. The window faced a little green area, the sidewalk and Harbor Blvd. It was right beside the Fitness room that I never saw anyone in. It was very convenient to the lobby and trolley pickup/dropoff.

I'd love to see pics of your standard room if you have some?
Hi! No photos. But here’s our video.

Candy Cane Inn | Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel | Anaheim | Renovated Room Tour

The vanity was outside the room with the shower and toilet. And no fancy furniture for the fridge (and no microwave). They were on the right of the lobby if looking from Harbor towards the lobby of the CCI.

I didn’t go this trip. My DH and son had a guys trip ☺️ we have stayed in a standard room prior to their renovations and also had the same layout as the video above.

I would stay here again, but request to be near the lobby, but not facing Harbor. It seems those standard rooms are larger with more counter space by the sink. But it was perfectly fine for me as a solo traveller.

We stayed in what I think might have been the same room years ago. We had a hard time sleeping because the shutters did not block the landscaping lights outside. Sad to see that they didn’t change that in the renovation.

FWIW, I like to have a room on the second floor of the south wing. That way I can come outside to the walkway and watch the fireworks at Disneyland. There are usually a number of other people doing the same.

Tinkaboo asked which wing Disneymum was in. I'm pretty sure the numbering starts in the south wing, so if I'm right, 101 would be on the side of the property nearest the little gift shop, 7-Eleven, and Katella.

Been in that room many a time…seems to me it helped to put the shutters down rather than up to block more of the light but I can’t recall. Il Ike it because it’s very isolated, and you’re right…in over a decade, I’ve NEVER seen anyone in that exercise room

Yes, I didn't like that they kept the shutters, although it does give the room a nice clean look and is probably easier to keep clean than curtains.

We checked out of a standard room today and our room layout was different. The biggest difference was that our sink was outside of the toilet/bath area.

The shutters are a dealbreaker for me. I can’t believe they don’t have blackout curtains. The sun rises so early here during certain times of the year, especially in the summer.

The shutters were a problem for me too, but it was not because of the sun, it was because of the lights in the parking lot. But, I did like it there, and would stay again.

The standard rooms that are recessed a bit by the stairwells have always had that layout.

Yes, those front rooms have a narrow entryway that wouldn’t allow for the external sink.

Interesting that your standard had no microwave and a smaller fridge compared to the OP. Very odd, IMO. I think all rooms of the same type should have the same amenities. It would frustrate me to think I was getting a microwave and decent sized fridge and then ended up without.

OP - did you find you had to wait long for the trolley or did you just specifically time things so you wouldn't have to wait? I heard it only runs hourly now instead of every 1/2 hour. Is that what you experienced?
