Our family has stayed at the CCI many times in the past. I notice that the larger rooms at the back are now "premium rooms" with breakfast delivery to the room. Has anyone else stayed in those rooms since they changed to the "premium" designation? If so, could you tell me what upgrades there are, besides the breakfast delivery?

Also, I would like more info on the breakfast delivery and how that works. Do you order what you want? How do you do that?

I'm trying to figure if it's worth the extra $$. Thanks!:)

When I asked 3 years ago about the premium rooms, they were just deluxe rooms (slightly larger than the standard rooms) with breakfast delivery, free cookies at arrival, a VCR and a microwave. Even though we didn't get a premium, we ended up getting a microwave and cookies anyway. Personally, I don't think it's worth the extra $$$. If you want to eat breakfast in your room, you can just get it for everyone and carry it back to the room.

Basically, you're paying extra money to have a VCR or DVD player.

We have done the Premium room thing and "worth it" is relative to your needs and desires.

It was very nice to have breakfast delivered in the morning. The availability of late checkout was also a plus.

The breakfast delivery is essential items from the continental breakfast brought to your room in a basket. Milk, juice, coffee are brought in carafes. Fruit, cereal, bread choice (bagels, toast, danish, muffins), yogurt. You fill out a form, and place it on your doorknob and it will be delivered at the time you designate.

They also give you very good cookies, popcorn, free VHS rental, and upgraded toiletries.

CCI is a great motel. I recomend it frequently.

That alone sounds worth it to me. Coming from the Bay Area I always feel like an 11:00 checkout is too rushed. There's no need to hit the road that early to get home. I'm looking forward to booking our first stay at CCI as soon as we can get our friends to agree on dates. :)

Thank you for your information.:) I appreciate it. With young children and the fact that it's sometimes hard to get a table at the breakfast area, I could see how the breakfast delivery might be a good feature. Especially if you are going during a busy time of year.

Can anyone tell me where the CCI shuttle drops you off, is it the same area that the chip & dale trolley from the parking area drops off? What is the best rate that anyone has received from the CCI. Last I checked it was $139.00 for a regular room is that as cheap as it gets?

We called instead of using the website and got a rooms in November for $99 each using AAA. The shuttle dropped us off right beside the walkway to the park entrance, just across from where the Chip and Dale trolley drops you off. The breakfast room was a bit crowded so we just picked up what we wanted and took it back to our room. If we had not been flying out at 9 AM, we would have gone with the premium room for the late checkout....I hate hanging around with nowhere to go!

I have a question about these rooms...how are the beds? soft, hard what? how many pillows do you get and how are the towels?

The beds were very comfortable! Firm but not too (IMO). They also had feather duvets which were very nice. Each bed had 4 pillows, they were not the best but by far not the worst either and having so many was nice. The towels were good and there were lots of them, plus there are pool towels too. Overall the rooms are more comfortable than most hotels/motels in the same price range (again IMO). :sunny:

The pillows get really flat for some reason. We have asked for additional pillows and gotten them. I normally have to stack two of the pillows on top of each other to make them work. The comforter is nice, but a bit heavy and I usually take it off. But the firm mattress seems just fine to me.

Normally for a regular room with 2 queen beds, we pay about $99 or $89 with the AAA discount. They have also given us the same discount with AARP. We stay here most of the time when we go. The shuttle is a private shuttle and it drops you off at the area inside from the crosswalk on Harbor. It's very close to the entrances.

Just returned from the Candy Cane Inn and paid $92/night for a regular room with the AAA discount. Would go back in an instant! :earsboy:
