I have been reading reviews about these two motels on Yelp and Trip Advisor and I am still not sure which one I should pick.:confused3 This will be my second trip to Disneyland and on our last trip we stayed at Staybridge Suites. We liked it there but would prefer to be closer to Disneyland this time. I would love some input from fellow disers who know the area and have stayed at either of these two motels. Which one wins out in your mind? :thumbsup2 We will be there end of July and it will be just the three of us on this trip (my husband and fourteen year old son).

I have never stayed at Park Vue Inn, but have stayed 4 times at Candy Cane Inn and am totally sold. They are wonderful. The motel is two stories, lots of parking! The parking is free which is a huge perk. It is very close to DLR plus it has a free shuttle. At the end of your stay you get a $10 off coupon for next stay. The grounds are pretty. And there us a free breakfast buffet each morning. I love the CCI.

We stayed at Park Vue last year and will be staying there again next week :cool1:

We love the welcome basket of fruit and wine (or cider if you choose it instead), free cookies, muffins and water in the lobby, great breakfast buffet, light supper in the evenings, and free parking (even though we fly so we don't ever use the parking). They have a nice pool and hot tub and you can watch the fireworks from the breakfast patio (or pool). The rooms aren't fancy, but they are clean and comfortable and the staff is great. I think the best part is how close they are to the parks...a 5-7 minute walk from Park Vue to the security bag check. Yes, if you can't tell, I'm excited about going back in THREE days

I haven't experienced Park Vue yet but my family and I will be staying there July 21-23. I was torn between 2 places and finally just went with Park Vue simply for its location. DS will be 2 when we go and my father is in remission from lung cancer so we'll be heading back to the motel for a much needed afternoon nap. So the location of Park Vue was perfect!

Have a great trip!

I was wondering if we would be able to see the fireworks from the patio. Didn't know if trees or other obstacles blocked the view or not. Thanks for answering my question! :)

We'll probably watch from the patio this year. We didn't last year, but have heard they have a good view. DD is very sensitive to sounds and did NOT like the fireworks, even with earplugs...so...looks like we'll be on the patio this year!:thumbsup2

We love the Candy Cane. The shuttle is nice, and it runs ON TIME. It leaves the Candy Cane on the hour and half (and circles the parking lot once!) It leaves Disneyland at the 15 and 45. So if you aren't out there until 50, you know its left, unlike ART where you are guessing "Did I just miss it, is it almost here, or ..."

The premium rooms have gift baskets, robes, and breakfast is served to your room. So worth it for us!

One of the other attributes of the CCI is not just the shuttle, that if you miss it, you probably don't need it since it's only a 9 minute walk to the gates. So it's not a 20 or 20 minute bummer when you miss it like most places where you should have to rely ona shuttle, you see it pulling away and miss it, start walking it's no big deal.

At the Park Vue Inn, yes, the breakfast patio is on the second floor. There is also a patio in front of Cold Stone that fronts the street, it does have some palms in front of it.

Since it is a motel with outdoor walk ways you can view out front of most of the rooms.

The pool is not great, haven't done it but it has some trees around it so it's not perfect.

Though if you have the chance watch the fireworks from inside the park it's so much better.

Both of these motels are very nice, and as you may of seen fall in the top ranks for Disneyland area accomodations.

CCI looks like the owners care, something you can rarely say about a property. Very nice grounds. The rooms are simple and small nothing great there, pretty much the standards of the area, but truly clean. Staying hear you will enjoy being close.

PVI strides to be different with great perks. Most oulined above already. Staying here you will be estatic about how close you are.

If you put money in the equation, you probably find the Park Vue about $30 to $50 more. Will you appreciate a couple warm items at breakfast. Use the snacks in the lobby. Be back for the social hour dinner. Find being 5 minute closer worth while. That's what the price difference gets you.

Either way you can't go wrong.

We are going back to CCI for our 4th time this summer. We considered trying out Park Vue just to see but decided to go with what we know since we've always had good experiences at CCI. You can see my review with pics in my sig that I wrote after our first time there.

I stayed at Park Vue with 2 granddaughters last May - It was perfect. The staff is really good.

One of them is a picky eater. We all ate a great breakfast every morning then walked to opening at the park - short walk. We came home around 1 - ate a snack at IHOP, Dennys or McD and then had a nice swim and relax. We then ate dinner at the hotel (they give you tickets for "snack") but the kids thought it was dinner. Then we would go back to Disney for a few hours and fall into bed at night.

They loved picking up a cookie in the lobby on the way to the room and getting a drink.

I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Either one would be a good choice.

CCI has prettier grounds and the free parking perk, and feels more peaceful. I like the feeling of serenity there when you walk through the courtyard area.

PVI is much closer, so if that's important to you, that could be the deciding factor. There's also the evening snack and the Coldstone Creamery next to the lobby! There are also more options for room sizes/layouts.

Both have excellent customer service and clean rooms that are a step above the typical motel.

Thanks for all your input. I have decided to give CCI a try this year. I am booked for 5 nights in July. I will drop by and check out the Park Vue Inn while I am there. Who knows maybe I will get back for another trip. I am really looking forward to staying so close to the park this year.

I've done both. While the CCI is a little nicer, I don't spend enough time in my hotel to make it enough of a selling point to offset the distance and price difference.
