CANDY BUFFET for my DD graduation party I NEED HELP..Please

Yes, I made the gumball topiaries. I really don't have instructions as I kind of winged it. I bought the little pails at Target in the dollar spot, then found some styrofoam balls to fit inside, and for the top, and a wooden dowel that I had my husband cut to about 1foot. I painted the styrofoam and dowels green. I crammed one ball into the bucket and glued in place (I used E600) and poked the dowel down through the center and glued in place. I then poked the other end of the dowel into the other ball, but then took it back off. I glued all the gumballs in place using a glue gun (started at the hole made by the dowel) and then glued it onto the dowel, then added a bow. I covered the bottom ball with gumballs as well (start from the bucket edge!), but it could be covered in spanish moss instead.

IHere are some pictures of our buffet.

I have been keeping track of this thread for years, waiting for my second daughters graduation from High School. We just has her party on Friday and wanted to post the pictures. Hopefully someone can get some ideas for their buffet as I got from everyone elses - Thank you to everyone who posted pictures - this was such a hit at the party. (I really don't know how to post pictures, but I'm going to try)

Oh well, I tried to post the pictures - like I said, I really don't know what I'm doing!!

DS's grad party was yesterday. I think we wound up with about 250 people in attendance. The candy buffet was a HUGE hit! Everyone took home bags of candy and I still have an entire Rubbermaid Tub full of candy...I may have gone overboard! :lmao: Oh well, DS is an only child, so this is the only time I will be throwing a party of this magnitude!

My son is a HUGE fan of John Deere tractors (and my husband owns a working dairy farm), and the school colors coincidentally are green & yellow...that worked out perfectly! :rotfl:

Now for some photos:

I love it. Where did you get the bowl you inserted the candy into the side of it?

Wow that last one was really impressive! Because of this thread I did one for my daughter's graduation party last month. It turned out so nice and everyone loved it! I, too, have MUCH leftover candy and mine was much smaller in scale. I will try to attach pictures.

Thanks to everyone here for the great ideas and pictures. I was inspired and my daughter loved it!

here is the candy buffet i had for DD16th birthday in April. The square glass containers were bought at Michael's for nieces wedding, and the tall vase like containers i bought at the Dollar Tree. Looks kinda lame compared to some of the others i see posted, but being on a budget its what i could do and they all loved it. Skittles were the biggest hit. Bought some candy at Sam's Club

ps anyone living close by me, the containers are up for grabs. They are extremely heavy glass, ( theh brown strip is ribbon) so i wouldn't ship them, but if someone wants to pick them up they are welcome to them.

I unwrapped stuff I think it looked better, stand them up in a vase filled with something like jellybeans. I'll try to post a picture of what I did.

I am planning on doing a candy buffet as the party favors to DD's 6 yo birthday party. Her theme is Wizards of Waverly Place so the colors will be pink and purple (her favorite colors anyway). Its not until March so I plan on picking up a lot of the candy after Valentine's day. Has anyone noticed purple candies in the Valentine's candy? And I am going to hit the thrift stores (there are a lot in my area) for the containers for the candy. Will keep everyone updated on my finds!

Let's see if I can post a couple pictures, This was kind of small scale it was for my DD's 13 bday just 10 girls for a slumber party, lots of left overs!
