Does anyone know if I can get a Curly Wurly at the store in the UK pavilion? I remember seeing some candy but I can't rember what they had. My favorite candy was the old Marathon Bars from back in the 70's and I've read the Curly Wurly is very similar. I'm headed back to WDW in May and I'd like to pick up a few if they have them.

The curly wurly is nothing like a marathan, you can still get marathan bars but they changed their name to Snickers. I don't know whether they are available at Epcot tho sorry.

This is a different Marathon bar. Mars candy made it back in the 1970's. It was eight inches long, braided caramel covered in chocolate. You knew it was 8 inches because of the ruler on the back.

I can just imagine the horrific mark up on the price of a Curly Wurly in Epcot, for what is a 20p (40c) bar ;)

I am pretty sure we bought a Curly Wurly candy bar at UK in Epcot. It was very crumbly from what I remember. My daughter and I always buy some kind of chocolate at each country and then have a chocolate tasting back in our room (except Morocco and Mexico-apparently they don't like chocolate). We rate each on a scale of 1 - 10. If I remember right the Curly Wurly got a 6. And yes, they are pricey--$2.50 - $5.00 a bar. Yikes!

If it was crumbly, it was probably a Flake. Curly Wurlys are very chewy chocolate toffee, yummy! I bought one while in Epcot in the summer to remind me of home.

We are from UK and my son 15 was missing his favourite chocolate on our trip, a flake, so when he saw them he had to have one. He nearly died when it cost him $2.50:laughing: He still goes on about how a 40p flake cost him £1.25 lol

OMG!!! When I saw the thread title I was thinking---COULD IT BE?

I  the Marathon Bars!!!!! Those were my absolute FAVES as a kid. I've tried to research it as well a few months ago and the UK Curly Wurly's seem to be the closest thing out there.

Caramel covered in chocolate, kind of in a pretzel pattern....

I was really hoping UK at Epcot would have it, too....

I don't care about the cost....after paying a fortune for Disney it would trully be a dream come true to get my favorite kid candy back just for a day.

I don't know if the UK pavillion has it. But if you have a store near you called Cost Plus Work Market (you might know it better just as "World Market"). http://www.worldmarket.com/home.jsp It's kind of similar to a Pier One store, except that in addition to home furnishings, they also have international foods. They carry the Curly Wurly that you are looking for. It tastes just like the old braided chocolate-covered chewy caramel Marathon bars. Marathone was one of my favorite candy bars as a kid. I was so happy to find Curly Wurly's there. HTH!

I purchased a Curly Wurly at the store in the UK on my trip in June. It certainly looked and tasted like an old Marathon bar to me!

I just go back last week and they did have Curly Wurlys in the UK, if i remember correctly I think they were 2.50

Were these "Marathons" available in the UK does anyone know? If so they must have been called something different as we had Snickers/Marathons and I doubt something would have the same name. Can anyone describe them in any greater detail, colour packaging etc. they might be still around in the Uk. Maybe I could package some up for someone if so.

Yes Curley Wurly's are the same as the old Marathon Bars (USA) for the 70's.
Yes they have them at Epcot for $2.50 and they also have them at World Markets in the US for around $1.50.
Always check the expiration dates on the bars when buying in the USA, I have found alot of out of date product, that will make the chocolate flakey.

The larger Kroger stores also have a selection of English Chocolate in the international sections. They have Lion Bars, Aero bars and some Cadbury items but no Curly wurly.

Slightly off topic but I love Cadbury Crunch bars!!!! I may have tried a Curly Wurly when we lived in the UK but I don't remember that one.
