I was fortunate enough to have Miyuki make me a creation on my last trip it was a dog and it is sooo cute (I got lots of attention everywhere I went in Epcot with it!). What did you do with yours once you got it home? Do you store it somewhere or did you eat it? I really like it and would love to somehow display/keep it, but I don't really know how. Any advice/tips?

Well, the unicorn from our Aug '04 visit didn't make it home in one piece and then what pieces did make it home, started to disolve in the heat at home. It is presently residing in the freezer...the pieces that is. Now, dd did get a monkey made on our Thanksgiving trip. We carried it home, in our hot little hands!!! It is now on display on our hutch in the dining room. Dd just couldn't stand to eat it. Wonder how long it will last.

My DD6 has had a dolphin and a cat on previous trips and they never made it out of EPCOT!!

after about 2 weeks i tried to eat mine....disgusting! :crazy2: really hard and tasteless. i'm sorry i ruined it. if i ever get another, i will take a photo of it and then chuck it on my way to the airport.

just dont do what I did - lost it!

in my defense - I got mine on the day we did drinks around the world! :drinking1

My DD got hers last Monday - Miyuki made a beautiful unicorn. Unfortunately, the horn broke on the boat to the Studios. DD ate most of it later that day.

what exactly are these and how do you get them? sorry if this is a dumb question :earboy2:

Miyuki makes them at a stand near the entrance into Japan. It has a blue sign or awning above it. She is only there for a short time, and she makes several appearances a day. Check Steve Soar's site for the times - he updates times for everything at the Disney parks every week.

If you want something, make sure you are there 5 minutes early. Once she starts, a huge crowd forms. Usually those her were waiting get to choose an animal, and she makes it right in front of you. They are fantastic, and free. Even if you can't get one for yourself, it's a treat just to watch her make them.

I love this woman! I can watch her for hours!

"Wake up, wake up"
"You can eat, you can eat"

What is it made of? I mean I know it is candy but is it like taffy or something? Anyone have a picture?

It sound like she is saying "caramel".

DS received a shark. We took a picture of him with it immediately. He kept it about a week, when the fin fell off. He ate that. From there, little by little it began to fall apart from so much handling of it.

Thanks for all of the replies...I actually liked mine the day I got it and it tasted pretty good :) Maybe I will just have to eat it...if I can fiigure out how to post a pic I will post a pic of it!

I agree with that she certainly had the crowd in laughing and ohhhing and ahhing...I watched her twice one day I was so amazed the first time.

She is. Miyuki is wonderful, but she does get a little repetitive. She tells us that the candy is made from "American corn syrup" and that it is like "caramel." She reminds us many times that it is "free candy" and that it is "present for you." She's one of our favorites, we just adore her.

And that the corn syrup is very hot (actually, it is supposed to be about 200 degrees!).
She says that they are made from (forgive my transliteration) "Ameri[can] corn syrup-a" and food coloring. (An native-born, slang-speaking American would probably say "Uhmerikun corn syrup".)
And when she says 'caramel-a', it sounds so pretty.
She doesn't allow rude/pushy people to line-jump, either. She is very aware of which kid has been patiently waiting the longest time.
Our friends that we were with said that the 'lollipops' used to be made from rice syrup - the lollipops might have been truly authentic then, but they weren't as tasty as the 'corn syrup' version.

agnes!
