I just read a small blurb about this recently. Could someone tell me more about it? Where in Japan? Scheduled times?

We saw the candy show last year, what a wonderul treat. I believe that the times were listed in the schedule. Get there a few minutes early if you have little ones so they can see. Enjoy.

She is AMAZING! Make time in your plans to see her. It's worth it.

Last Thursday DD and I arrived at the candy kiosk, which is at the front entrance of Japan's gift shop, about 10 minutes before the show. There were a couple other families already waiting, so we stood at the rope on the right side. Miyuki came out right on time, and lots more people showed up to watch as well. She asked who wanted an animal and we raised our hands; and she picked the family who had apparently arrived there first. They chose an orange tiger (she always asks what color you want); and then she chose the people next to them, who picked a pink flamingo. She always told families they had to share; as in one animal per group. She picked my daughter and I for the next to last animal (she made five total). We were going to ask for a panda bear, but my daughter decided on an owl at the last minute ... brown. It was so cute, with the big saucer eyes she added; and even a little greenery at the bottom. She works fast, and was all done in 20 minutes! She told the rest of the crowd that if they wanted an animal to come back for the next show.

We were in Epcot on the last full day of our trip, and were so looking forward to seeing her. We went to the Japan Pavillion and were told it was her day off :sad1:

We're returning in April, and hopefully can catch her this time!

She is very talented and worth seeing. We saw her last month. While she works she constantly says....."I make for you"..... I can still hear her.

Our "blue monkey"

We love her speech pattern :goodvibes

If we see her working, we always stop and watch.

Carmela, I make for you, Carmela very hot....:lmao: My kids went around repeating this long after!
WORD OF CAUTION!!!! If your child can NOT handle/understand that not everyone will get a candy, do not go without a backup. Our friend's little girl (very well behaved) could not understand :confused3 why she didn't get one. It is very hard on a small :guilty:child after watching and waiting so long. If I had it to do over again, I would explain first (so sorry that I did not know this) and I would have told her upfront that either way she had a special treat waiting.

We were there 1/2/2010 to 1/9/2010. We were in Epcot on 1/6 and saw the candy making presentation, and a brown monkey was made for us! This was one of the best things about our trip last week, and i have been there 10+ times. It is just amazing to see how she makes these animals out of candy!

I've heard so much about this that we're making time for it this trip! I really love experiencing something new every time we go and it sounds like this is *well* worth the time! :wizard:

Yes, she kept saying Carmela and I couldn't understand if that was what she was actually saying and what it meant. I do think that she is able to see the crowd gathering at her stand from wherever she is prior to the show, and chooses the people who have been waiting the longest (as long as they're polite). At least that was our experience from that show and one we attended a couple years ago.

I could watch Miyuki for HOURS, and her sing-song running commentary will put you in a trance. :goodvibes

Her schedule varies, and sometimes she's "on vacation" so check the current times guide.

I can't wait to see her and the animals. She's on the top of my list for WS day. It's so neat!:goodvibes

My very fav show in all of Epcot is the candy lady .....so much talent!!!!!! I've had the pleasure of recieving 2 of her animal creations sadly the 1st one did not survive the trip home in the June heat it melted in saddle bag of harley but it was about 120 degrees most of the way home. The 2nd I got in Oct it did survive the trip home I took it out of the plastic bag fixed up a nice little display for it on my piano an low an behold in just a few days the humidity of barely indiana nearly kentucky got to it an it melted thank goodness I found the mess before much of it melted onto the wood of the piano.

Some things is only meant to last a little while an aparently the candy the candy lady makes is one of those things:(

Miyuki is a treasure! One of my absolute favorite things to do at Epcot is to catch one (or more) of her shows. She is charming, funny, and SO talented. I've never been chosen to receive one of the lollipops but it is a joy to watch the process.

The past few times I've been there she was on the schedule Sunday through Thursday, and she does quite a few shows each day. Get there early, she draws quite a crowd!

Just look at the fascination on the faces of those entranced by her work!

We made a priority of seeing her this last trip as a surprise for DS6 and DD9. I told them "I have someone I want you to meet". After we saw her the first time and left the show my kids said "Can we do that again?" just like I'd heard after all those big rides. It took 3 visits over 2 days to walk away with our own candy. I learned on the first visits that even though we were first to arrive we weren't getting picked. I watched her picking pattern and she always picked straight in front of her, no wider than if she made a "V" with her arms. So, if people walked up and joined in the back they were being picked and we were against the rope but off to her side. So, last visit we waited patiently in the second row but straight in front of her and presto...bango :wizard: we got our very own candy.

My daughter and I were off to the side; up against the rope, but she had to turn to see us. We were there early and waited patiently, so I think that had something to do with it.
