Just called to check to see if the Candlelight Processional dinner packages were available yet and don't think that Disney has trained all of the CM's about this yet.

First, the CM I spoke with said that she showed "Party at the Fort was replacing the Candlelight Processional this year." :scared1: WHAT?? :confused3 When I asked her if she was sure about this, as it's been a traditional thing at EPCOT for numerous years, she put me on hold to check. Now she's telling me that, after checking with her mentor that "they have not defined the days or times of the shows or what this show will be called and that the info has not been updated as of yet." She said "maybe by the end of the month."

she was probably a newbie and confused it with something else...I talked to a CM this morning who said the CP's should be able to be booked mid to late aug...she said she heard aug 27th, as a tentative date for them to become available, but that is just rumored so don't take that in stone.

Not posting this as a joke. :sad2: I'm guessing that the newer CM's have just not been fully trained. I asked her what this "Party" was and she had no idea. When I asked her if she knew what Candlelight was, she said kinda, but never have been. Explained that, in the past numerous years, that it is shown 3 times a day starting from the day after Thanksgiving through Christmas. She said "oh, yeah that's right." Just hope that the info her "mentor" was giving her was not correct, as it would be a shame to start changing this program.

Somtimes you have to check more than  party: party: once to be sure.

If I were Disney I would NOT train until just before they release the details. One of the keys of computer system training is that if you train 6 months before someone needs to know how to use the system you just start all over again at go live. Plus I would bet reservations has a fairly high turnover. (Would you want to listen to folks complain all day that they can't get an ADR for Cineralla Castle, or they can't get a cheap room at the GF?) So training too far in advance means you aren't training the folks who will be there when you start selling.

And the person may not be there 6 months from now. Why waste the money.

I understand what you are saying and I do agree. I just think that they should all have a generic answer to questions, such as this. Instead of telling someone incorrect information, it should be "we do not have details regarding this at this time." This way people are not getting inaccurate or misleading information, nor would you get a completely different answer with every different CM. Would probably save them alot of hassels or having to bother manager's with the same questions by different cm's.
