This is our first December Disney trip. CP sounds amazing, however, I'm traveling with my three boys that won't find it quite so amazing. So we are not doing the dining option and I don't want to camp out super early for seats. Any chance we could arrive close to start time and just stand and view/hear it? I'd be fine not being close and standing, but is this even an options? Or is this something we really need to stake out? We generally get to Fantasmic around 20 minutes before start time and usually get seats or just stand in the back. Anyone that can give me some tips would be appreciated!!!!

There's a rail separating the seats from the general walkway in front of American Adventure. People stand along this rail several rows deep to see CP when they did not/ cannot get a seat. I haven't been in 3 years, so I can't speak for recent crowds, but you may have to camp out on some fashion even for this location. I know what it's like with boys. I say give it a try, but remember the whole thing is on YouTube, too.
