How can I find out when reservations open up for the dining/CP combo? I've heard July, but is there a thread I can follow on the Dis, or any other site so I will know as soon as they become available?

Last year they went on sale July 9 if I remember correctly. If one hasn't been started yet I am sure there will be many postings leading up to that date. I suggest keeping an eye out on the DIS. When the time comes you'll know it!
You could also check out the wdwinfo or allears sites.

I would love to know this, too. I thought you could make the reservations at the 180 day mark, like other reservations. This is our first December trip and I really want to reserve the dinner package.

We have been attending (and enjoying) CP for years. Unfortunately it is getting more and more expensive. Last year we chose Chefs de France and it was over $125 for 2 of us with no wine or liquor. We never paid that much before. We will do it again this year but will probably chose a lower category.

Nope, not at the 180 day mark, if your 180 day mark is prior to the day they become available for booking. As noted, last year they were available on July 9.

We want to reserve a package too. Would you recommend making an ADR at the 180 mark and then cancelling/rebooking when the packages open? Can you reserve CP online or only on the phone?

Only if you want to eat at that restaurant whether or not you get the CP package. The regular reservations are completely separate from the CP package reservations, so having a previous reservation will not help you in getting a package, but if you worry that the entire restaurant will be sold out by the time you try to book your package and you still want to eat there, having a regular reservation could alleviate that fear.

As far as I know you can not update an existing reservation into a Candlelight Processional one. You can reserve the CP dining package online once the packages are released.

When I called in to make ADR's last week they told me I couldn't get ANY reservations for Epcot restaurants yet b/c they haven't released any of the time slots b/c of the candlelight processional.

Do you mean that you can't make CP ressies? I made standard lunch ADRs for Chef's and Biergarten last week for days in early December when CP is running.

I wonder if the reservationist was mistaken, because I was able to make a 6 pm ADR for Chefs de France (non-dining package) in early December, while the CP will be running.

No like she said I couldn't get any Epcot reservations at all. This was at 7AM at 180 days out, which would have been June 2nd.

You can make regular reservations now. A while back you couldn't make them. They will be in short supply because spaces are being held back for the packages (which are not on sale yet and probably will not be until next month).

They usually announce speakers the day packages become available. However, several dates will still be TBA and the ones announced opening day are subject to change(and often do).

OK, so how would that work if it was the same time frame? You would have to hurry and cancel your regular ADR and then quick go to the Candlelight Processional page and hope you get the same ADR you wanted? Or do you not have to cancel the regular ADR and can wait until after you booked the Candlelight one?
