Candlelight Processional

I've read in a couple of places that the last show will begin at 8:30 pm, not 8:15 pm. If it's about 40 minutes long, that only leaves 20 minutes to exit the theatre and find a spot for Illuminations. I'm wondering if it's better to try for the 6:45 CP package, even if it means eating a little earlier.

What do you think?

Called this morning and was told the 15th. Asked about speakers or if this is included on the dining plan. Was told no list of speakers as of yet and that it may be 2 TS credits, as "this is a signature event."

How can Disney CM's be so off on their information. This is back to square one according to this. Which I do not believe.

Folks -

As I recall and found in my previous Disney stuff last night, back in 2002 and I believe was still the policy until this year - you picked up your CP Badge / Nametag at Epcot Guest Relations (maybe check-in at hotel) the morning of your CP Dinner reservation. Now remember, with this badge, you could buy any merchandise in Epcot that day for 15% off the regular price. Now this came in handy when you had all the pavilions and Mousegears to shop at.

With this new policy of obtaining your badge at the time of your dinner reservation at the restaurant, this kinds blows the whole 15% off perk, if this perk will still be around this year.
Anyone know the scoop on this??? :wizard:

Debby7 & Zurgswife --

I was at WDW last August when the CP packages went on sale. I called from my resort room phone and press "Dining Reservations" and that's how i reserved my 2005 CP package. It can be done at any WDW resort. Try it...it is much easier than using your cell phone and using unnecessary minutes.

We like to go Christmas Eve, therefore, I will be calling on August 15 along with everyone else. A note to everyone...just go with the flow...don't get yourself worked up about making the reservations...sometimes people get too uptight about Disney planning...just go and have fun!!!!

The perks have been going away. When I first booked CP (2000) there was the dinner, including gratuity & tax(?), the show, the discount pass/coupon, lanyard and pin. The second time (2003) there was the dinner, including gratuity & tax (?), the show, and the discount. Now there is only going to be the dinner and show, no gratuity or tax included, no discount, no pin and lanyard, plus they pick the dining times?

Do we know if the CP package will be 2 TS or 1 TS? We will also be in the World next week, so I need to get this figured out before Sunday.

On the official CP Information thread that was posted by a Disney CM who has access to an employee website says that all 3 tiers will be 1 TS credit.

I know. It's a shame. We did it for the first time last year (tax and tip inlcuded) and even though it was a little more than what we would normally have spent at that restaurant without the CPDP, it was worth it to not have to wait in line. Now that tax and tip isn't included it's now in the a lot more than we would normally pay at the restaurant (especially with the DDE card) category ($50 more with a 20% tip) and we can pick our own dining times. So we'll either be in line waiting or just miss out on it this year (which it is a really good show but wouldn't ruin the trip if we didn't make it).

I just called and as we've all heard, August 15. I did ask her about the DDP also while I had them on the phone and the CM read it to me right from her computer that they would all be 1 TS meal. I sure hope they don't change their mind and that sticks.

I agree with you 100%. I was just thinking without the tax and tip being included, it isn't that good a deal anymore, except that you get a seat for the CP show. I am thinking if we do it we will do a toer 1 or tier 2 restaurant. We loved Le Cellier last year, but adding the tip and tax makes it a bit too much.

Called today and was told Aug 15th. Also was told 1TS for those on the DDP, that's good news!

At least we're getting some of the same responses!

Julia

Does anyone have ANY idea of why Disney has forced these early dining times on CP package holders? I might feel a little better about this if I could understand their reasoning.

Because we must dine after the 6:45 show, we have no choice but take our chances with the stand-by line or skip the CP. Why did they have to mess with a good thing and one of our favorite nights of our Christmas trips? :confused3

The passes to the CP are being handed out at the restaurants, thus you must dine prior to the event. As for why they did it this way this year, any response would be pure speculation. Some think it is due to the popularity of the DDP. Others think it could be because the dining window opened up at 180 days this year, and everyone snagged up reservations as a 'stand-by', only to find out that they actually ate up the slots that would have been given to the CP. I agree, though, it would be nice to have a firm explanation.

Called again today and was told 8/15 as before, but this time the CM advised that they were also doing lunches as well as dinners, for guests on the DDP, it will be one credit.

I called today as well. At first the CM told me they were released, then told me no, then told me not until END of August.

I don't beleive this CM at all! I truly beleive she didn't know what I was talking about.

Interesting...I called this morning...the CM told my they were being released TOMORROW...Monday 8/14!

She said they are getting so many calls about when they packages will be released.

I'm not sure what to believe, but it has to be sometime this week.

How wild .... It sure would be nice if at some point. CRO got their act together.
