Candlelight Processional with 5 yr/old?

Is it worth doing the CP dinner package with a 5 year old? Or do you think you would get more out of the night by skipping the sit down for the show and wandering the World Showcase? We will only be there for the first night of the show. Hence it will also be the first night of the tree lighting and storytellers. We go home the saturday after thanksgiving.

The CP sounds great to me but I am not sure dd would enjoy it.

I'm sure you'll get a wide range of opinions, but personally, I wouldn't do it. We haven't brought our DS, who's now 8, to a CP yet -- it is just not his cup of tea. I would say that if your DD is used to things like church or religious services, or has some theater/concert experience under her belt (or other experience sitting through a long event not designed specifically for children), you'd be better off having fun at World Showcase and saving CP for when she's older.

My DD 10 loves CP. My DD 8 falls asleep every year...along with my DH. This year they are going to wander the park while DD10 and I go to dinner and the show.

For a 5 year old, I would choose th etree lighting and storytellers. There is a lot of waiting involved with this show...even if you do the dinner pkg.

I've been taking my daughter to CP since she was 3. She watches for a little while and then gets bored. But this past time, we bought her a cup of hot chocolate and a gingerbread cookie. Since the Candlelight Processional isn't too long, the snacks occupied her until the show was over.
