Candlelight Processional Dinner Dilemma

We have a HUGE dilemma. We have a reservation for the CP with dinner at San Angel Inn (not our first or even second choice). I can dine at Chef de France (same day/time) but without the CP as there are none available.

Should we not do the CP dinner at a restaurant we don't really want or wait in long lines for the CP and eat a restaurant we do want?

Are the wait times shorter at the CP at different show times or are they pretty much the same no matter when you go?

Thanks!

There is normally a 3 hour wait for CP if you do not book the package. My advice would be to chose a restaurant that you would like to dine that at which the cp is available or if necessary be willing to skip the CP. I would also suggest that you keep trying to get the adr at the place you have your heart set on. Good Luck!

Hi, just read your situation and as a CP fanatic I wanted to ask you, have you guys seen it before? If not, then I would highly suggest doing the mexican restaurant and having great seats for the show. If you HAVE seen the CP show before then I would suggest eating at the restaurant of choice, and get there early for the stand-by line. Dont know if your fans of mexican food, but this restaurant is EXCELLENT! We have been to all of them and the food at san angel is delicious! Try the queso fundido apptz, its excellent. Let me know if this helps!

Tara :)

Hi--you might try calling first thing in the morning and seeing if your restaurant of choice has become available. I tried for a CP package at Le Cellier last week, and it was booked up. The Cast Member I was speaking to recommended trying back first thing in the morning--apparently cancellations are put into the system then. I did--and now we'll be at Le Cellier on 12/6! :earsboy:

It depends on when you are going. If it's early to mid December you can get in line about 30 to 45 minutes before, especially during the week (assuming there's not a big well known narrator).

I know this restaurant does not get great write-up, but I like this restaurant. I love the atmosphere and have never had a disappointing meal.

Thank you all so much for all of the great advice! It seems so simple now that I've pulled back and examined everything.

What we ended up doing was checking for Chef de France CP on a different day and we got exactly what I wanted! So I cancelled the other reservations and went with a different day.

Just FYI, the CP reservation I finally got was NOT available before when I called but magically appeared for us! So, the rule of thumb still follows, just keep calling....you never know but it might open up for you!

THANKS again!!! :cool1:
