We are looking at booking the Candlelight Processional Dinner Package at the Biergarten and wanted to know if anyone else has eaten there during this time. We have found the regular menu but was wondering if they added anything special for the holidays. Our children aren't too picky and two of the three have lived in Germany (one was born in Frankfurt) and we thought they might like the entertainment.

Edited to add: We also noticed that the price for the package is about $8.00 higher than just booking a regular dinner and was wondering why. Everything that I have read states that the CP is included in the price of your admission to Epcot.

Any comments? Thanks.

We've eaten lunch at Biergarten during the Christmas season, and are doing it again for Christmas Day this year.

In the past, they haven't had anything special for the holidays, but the food is fantastic, anyway. Definitely "comfort" food, perfect for the season. :)

The band on stage does a special Christmas performance, though! Enjoy.

I believe the price includes non-alcoholic beverage and gratuity, but I'm not certain! It also gaurantees you "seating" for the CP. We went to CP and Biergarten Christmas Eve last year. I, unlike DH, loved the food. MY kids loved the child friendly atmosphere...kids dancing with the band, etc. Keep an eye out for when the band is giving out gold coins to the kids-they're chocolate. My kids had gone to the bathroom during that time and it was nearly impossible to get them later.

CP is included in Epcot admission, but CP Dinner Package guests get priority admission to the amiphitheatre, and they definitely pay for it. $8.00 higher than normal is a bargain compared to the Tier 2 and Tier 3 packages. (Unless you already planned to ALL eat a huge expensive meal including appetizer, entree and dessert, in which case the package could actually save money).

For example for our family of 4 with children 12 and 9, it would cost $138 this year to get a CP Dinner Package at Marrakesh. Last year we ate there for dinner (no CP) and had plenty to eat, including tax and tip, for $65. That even included myself ordering the Royal Feast. So for our family anything other than Tier 1 is quite expensive.

If you don't want to pay extra, you can wait in line to the right of the amphitheatre, and get in for free if you get in line early enough, and sit in the back.

I agree with the cost concern..our DD's are 13 and 9. However, we went last year during prime time, Christmas Eve, and wanted the gauranteed seating. It was important to us to do it that night! This year we're going over the Thanksgiving holiday (peak time again) and have only one night we can attend so I bit the bullet again. If you can go during a non-peak time, I wouldn't buy the CP package.

I know another poster questioned the cost too. The cm told her that you are paying for the "convenience". We have never done the cp before so I am biting the bullet and paying for it. We have the dde card and no discount either. It will be one of our "splurges" I guess. All my teen gets charged the full adult price so its pretty expensive.

We did the package in 2003 and it was worth it to get the priority seating for the CP and not have to stand in the huge lineup.

Biergarten has always been on DH's to-do list so I think we're going to do it as this year's CP dinner. He will be please to hear they play some Christmas music.
