Since the Candlelight Processional Dinner packages went on sale today I was hoping the old pros could share their experiences with newbies like me. Where did you eat?? What time?? What time was your performance?? Did you time it right? Did you feel rushed?? How was the food?? How was your seat for the show? Overall quality?? Would you do it again?? Merci Beaucoup :goodvibes

We have used the package twice. Ate at Marakesh 1st time and Rose and Crown 2nd time. Ist time we went to first show and ate after - 2nd time we did the reverse. Food was great both times but I would hightly recommend eating after the show, it's much more relaxing because your not worried about getting to the show. Seats were better the first time just for the simple fact we got in line earlier. Even with the reserved seating the earlier you get in line the better your seats. We would do it again. Enjoy

We prefer to eat early around 5 pm, (we have always done Le Cellier), then catch the last show. You have plenty of time to stroll at a leisurely pace with a little shopping to the American pav. After the final performance watch Illuminations!!!

I've done the CP package twice. Both times, I saw the first show and ate after. That's just my preference - I don't want to hurry through my meal to get to the show, plus I don't like feeling full from a meal while I'm watching a show (and the CP packages are big meals). Some people don't like the first show because it's not quite dark at that time, but that didn't bother me at all.

The first time I went with my family (DH and two DS's) and we ate at San Angel Inn. We loved the show but didn't really like the food, so I wouldn't choose to dine there again. We loved the restaurant's theming, but you can enjoy that just by visiting the Mexican pavilion and riding the boat ride. The food wasn't bad really, we just didn't care for it. Plus, the service was poor.

The second time I went with a friend and we ate at Biergarten. I chose this restaurant because it was in the least expensive tier and it's close to the American Pavilion. Before I went, I was really worried about finding something to eat. I'm a vegetarian and I don't like heavy foods, so I was afraid Biergarten's food wouldn't appeal to me. Boy, was I wrong! I absolutely loved it! There were plenty of salads (both hot and cold) and breads that I could eat, as well as a nice selection of desserts. Everything I tried was delicious. My friend and I were seated with a family of six on one side of us and a couple on the other side of us. I had been hesitant about the seating at Biergarten, but it worked out fine. The family next to us was a lot of fun and very talkative (especially the older gentleman who was there with his daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren) so we laughed and joked with them throughout the meal. The couple on the other side of us was very quiet and just talked to each other throughout the meal, but it was fine, not uncomfortable at all.

I loved the show both times, and I'm really glad I did the CP package. I would do it again without hesitation.

We ate at R & C. We booked early dinner & middle CP. I wouldn't do it this way again because we felt too rushed through dinner. I would say if you want the middle show book your dinner after. If you want the first show it won't be quite dark yet for CP. If you want the last show book your dinner as early as possible to avoid feeling rushed.
Our dinner was wonderful. We picked some of the most expensive items on the menu & really got our money's worth. If you don't book a package it is very difficult to get a seat for CP. You will have to line up to get into the theater, so the earlier you get there the better your chances of a good seat.

We did it back in 2001 and I thought it was worth it. We ate at Le Cellier and then did the last show. We had a decent wait at Le Cellier even with the PS, so make sure if you are doing the dinner first to make the PS early enough just in case. This December, I'm treating my mom to 5:30 dinner at San Angel (DH and I have always enjoyed our meals there) and the last CP. DS will be 2.5 and I don't think he'd enjoy sitting for the CP that long so DH will take him that evening.
