Candlelight Processional and Illuminations

I am hoping to attend the CP on December 21st and was wondering if we were at the last CP (8:00), would that be a good time to see Illuminations?

We were thinking of doing Illuminations earlier in the week, but if you can see from the theater where the last CP is performed, can you just stay there and view Illuminations?

Just wondering what others have done and if that works okay or would we be better off to stake out an Illuminations spot on another night?

You can't see Illuminations from the American Gardens Theater because it's right in front of the World Showcase lagoon and therefore totally blocks the view of the lagoon. So while you can certainly see Illuminations after the CP, you'll have to leave the theater to find a place to view it from.

Would it be a better idea to watch Illuminations on another night since we would be late trying to find a viewing spot for Illuminations?

yes you should see it on another night since illuminations starts at 9pm, then again maybe it starts at 9:30pm, but it still wouldn't get you a prime viewing spot by the time you get out of the show. And at least you could see it a second time then after the CP, maybe not as good of a spot, but you would of seen it already.

Illuminations starts at 9:30 when the CP is running because the last show starts at 8:15 and would end about 9:00, but that probably wouldn't be enough time to find a good spot.
