Candlelight Processional and a few ????

Yes the story teller is "in person" not a recording. So Since Dick Van **** is the story teller this year (it changes from year to year) he will be there in person.

Anyone else think it is funny that Dick isn't sensored by **** is?

I've never seen it and I'm hoping we can be there that weekend. Will Dick Van **** be there in person? I would sooooo love to see him in person!

Apparently, yes. He is the one reading the Christmas Story.

Any news on this yet? i booked Rainforest Cafe in case. There was no restaraunt avail in the park for that day.

Is rainforest booked as a back-up or in hopes of it being part of the package? I am pretty sure that it was not one of the one included last year. Also you would need to book a "special" package reservation for the seating.

It is generally the higher-end (more expensive) places at the hotels and DTD that were included. Like Napa Rosa, Granville Steakhouse etc. With rediculously high minimums per person. $30 - $50.

I called this morning to try to get the dining package. They said call back next week. sigh.....I wish I could have done it today!!

I called thursday. They said call back Friday.
I called Friday. They said call back Monday.
I just spent 20 minutes on hold, to be told...maybe tomorrow!!

AHHHHHH!!! I stayed home for this! I drove my kids to school in my pjs so I could rush home and be the first one calling. I re-arranged my morning so I could call. And now they say "maybe by tomorrow"

Ahhhhh!!!

Does anyone know which restaurants will be included in this package, so I can at least look them up? The CM didn't know.

Did I mention ahhhhhhh!!

Of course nothing is for sure but I would count on Napa Rose, Granville Steakhouse, Storytellers, all the higher-end Disney Hotel Restaurants and maybe one or two in DTD.

I read somewhere (maybe on here or another forum?) that you had to spend $40 a person. They had ordered their food, and hadn't hit the minimum, so had to order tons of cookies to get to the minimum!

Anyone know anything about this?
Do they still do this?
Are all restaraunts like that, or just some?
Do kids have to hit the minimum too?

Thanks!

There really isn't any information yet for this year. My guess is yes there will be some ridiculously high minimum. Kids if I remember right were okay as long as they ordered a kids meal, drink & dessert. All restaurants/packages had a minimum but the minmum was dependent on the restaurant. To hit the minimum you likely will need to order an appetizer, adult beverage, meal, and desert per person. That is a LOT of food.

Of course until details come out this is entirely speculation.

Just spent another 15 minutes on hold.....to be told--"Hopefully some time this week we will know-call back this week"

So another few bucks in long distance charges and some frustration!!!

Really hope tomorrow they know!

Thanks for the update! From the sound of things, there are a lot of folks calling. When I called a few weeks back, I was told this was going to be a private event by invitation only. :confused3

Again, thanks for sharing. :goodvibes

Whooooo hoooooo!!!!

Just got my Candlelight package booked!! :cool1:

I am so excited!!

After days of being on hold, and being told no, call back.... I got in!!!

YAY!!!!!!

(can you tell I am excited!! just had to share!!)

FYI the shows are at 530 and 800pm on Sat and Sun.

Details!! I want details!!!
Where? How much? What do you get to see? All you know!!!
And congrats! Maybe we'll see you there!!! :cool1:

You can pick from Napa Rose, Storytellers, Hooks Point and Granvilles.

The minimum at Storytellers is $40 adults and $15 kids age 3-9 (bummer-my dd is 10 how can she eat $40 worth!?!?)

The minimum at Granvilles is $60 adults and $15 kids.

I didnt even ask about the other two places, since I had already decided I would go with one of the above!

We chose Storytellers. It will be a good time to explore the GCH too-never been in it!

The shows on sunday are at 5:30 and 8:00. She said for the 8:00 show they recommend you eat around 5:00. (we are going a little earlier). You need to be at the show by 7:30, or they will give your seats away.
You get your CP tickets after you have eaten and paid for your meal (and hit the minimum-lol!)

The CP is at the end of main street this year, by the railroad station.

I didn't ask the CM but from what I have read around, it is still Dick VanDyke doing the story.

I am so excited!! :cheer2:

I went to the CP a couple of years ago. I think Mickey Rooney was the reader. It was a beautiful, powerful event.
I was worried about not getting seats so I bought into the package at Granville's I think. After stuffing ourselves enough to make the minimum, we barely made it to the show and ended up shuffling in with the general public that were filling the seats. Obviously, you can't guarantee that you'll make it, but I was very upset that I spent all that money and didn't have to.

Thats too bad.

I hope to be in the area by 7:15 for sure, if not 7:00.

We may just have to buy tons of cookies to make the minimum!! Or not eat all day before that!!

I could not imagine spending $40 per person. For my family of 3 we don't spend that for the 3 of us per meal, we barely hit that total when we dine at Blue Bayou.

Ya, it is going to be hard. The worst part is, my 10year old dd barely eats--yet she can't get the kids deal, because it is ages 3-9!!

Is it really to be Dick van **** as rumoured, can anybody confirm?!?!? I hope so it will so make the $100+ we will be spending worth it!!! VP was even vague on it this morning but I think they were overwhelmed when I called as she said it had just been thrown at them. Also, has anybody done Hook's Point for dinner that is where we got our ps for and I've never been. Do they have steak and a good dessert menu...gotta make up that 40 bucks somewhere! :cool1: :cool1:
