It has been a while. I think the last one I went to was 2013?

When does Disney start making announcements for this and listing narrators? I thought it was July/August, but it has been 11 years.

For 2023, narrators were announced in October and dining packages went on sale in October as well.

I want to say it was later in October last year.

Yes, typically 2 table service credits per person. This will be the first CP since they began to offer the DDP again.

For the record, dropping this related detail here since I just looked it up myself yesterday -- last year, CP dining packages didn't go on sale until October 17th. Details were announced the first week of October.

I actually prefer the mid-October drop... lets those folks with short trips have a better shot at dining packages since the 60 day +10 booking window applies.

We're anxiously waiting for the news of the Candlelight Processional again this year. This is a highlight of the December trip for us:} We're getting close (I hope) to getting a schedule of narrators and being able to book dining.

My 60+10-day window opened today and there still doesn't appear to be any info on the dining packages. I went ahead and made a dinner reservation, so we have something. I'm hoping it will be announced soon and I can cancel and rebook. Anyone have any insight....I've never booked this in the past.

For 2023, they made their initial narrator announcement on 10/5 and package reservations opened up on 10/17.

We might be able to attend one night in early December if I really want to see the narrator. Is a dining package the only way to go or do I have a decent chance of getting in on a Tuesday night early December? I don’t really want a dining package as we are expecting a grandchild so might have to cancel.

Depends on who the narrator is, or how long you are willing to stand in line the evening of the show. For someone like Neil Patrick Harris, if you don't get a dining package, people in standby line wait a long time to get in.

We did the same day dining package at Regal Eagle in 2023. We showed up to Regal Eagle a little before 11am when they opened and were some of the first people in line to buy the dining package lunch selection, which got us a seat for the Candlelight Processional without having to make a dining reservation or waiting in a super long line before show time.

If you get a dining package you can always cancel it if your plans changed. I got one last year for Garden Grill breakfast but then decided to cancel a week or so prior and had no issues canceling.
