Candlelight dinner timing

We're going to WDW a day earlier than planned so that I can see John Stamos at the CP. Usually we make our first day an easy one because we drive through the night. If we see the 5 pm CP, can we get by w/ a dinner ressie as early as 6:30? WDWIG says 7 or later, but if the show's 40 minutes it seems that 50 min. would be enough time to get out of the theater and over to the restaurant (hopefully Le Cellier). Right now I've got ADRs for 4:40 and the 8:15 show, but that keeps us in the parks til 9 or even later.

It is my understanding that WDW dining has times set aside for the CP dinner package according to the times of the CP performances. Also, from what I've read on the CP thread it seems that Le Cellier is the most popular location so it may not be available. Personally, we have a 5:30pm ADR at Chefs de France with an 8:15pm CP performance with Marlee Matlin one night and on Christmas Eve we have 6:45 pm CP performance with Jim Cavielzel and an 8:15 ADR at Teppenyaki...if that gives you any help.

My best advice would be to call WDW Dining and ask a CM to see what you can arrange...they will know what is available and where.

Thanks for replying! So you have an hour and a half between the start of the show and your dinner ADR. I bet 6:30 for dinner would work. I know it's a long shot, but I think I'll call and try to change my ADR.

I don't have my heart set on Le Cellier. It just seemed like we'd get the best value for our $$ there. I originally planned to go to Epcot on Friday only and wanted to see the tree lighting the same day. That's why we had the 4:40 dinner. I got so excited over John Stamos and changing our travel dates, that it didn't occur to me that we'd now have 2 days at Epcot.

When we went last year, CP ended about 15 minutes late. We were moving fast to get over to Le Cellier for dinner. It is dark and the crowds are very thick. We were about 10 min. late, but so were many people.

I thought it was going to be plenty of time, but I was wrong! I think things like that are why they make the dining times as far from the shows as they do.

Mmmm. And Canada is a long way from the theater. Maybe I should leave things as they are. This shouldn't be this complicated! lol

When we did the dinner package last year we saw the second showing of CP (I believe 6:45) and then had dinner after at Rose and Crown (I believe we had 8:00 PS). I did not want to eat first and be rushed through dinner to make the CP. The 8:00 Rose and Crown worked out great for us. We had an outside table on the lake side and was enjoying our food while watching IllumiNations.
