We just booked for Dec 16th-23rd. We will be there for peak season. If we'd like to see the candleight processional, do we need to get a package? The 2 TS credits thing is killing me! Also, our boys are young-- 4 and 6, but we are also going with my parents, who I know will LOVE to see it (they are both music people). So, is it "worth" the 2 TS credits? --Katie

Personally, I could not justify using 2TS credits for a restaurant that is normally 1TS and a show that is free to the public (even through it would be hard to get a seat without it).

IF they add Johnny Depp:love: to the narrator schedule, then please disreguard the previous statement!:rotfl2::banana::banana:

Check out the other thread I started - link below. I'm not spending 2 TS credits either and we are on the deluxe DDP with credits to burn. I plan to wait. If I did the package, I'd just pay cash or the cheapest lunch package - probably San Angel Inn or Biergarten since we were going to eat lunch at both anyway. But I understand that the wait for CP can get longer the closer you get to Christmas.

Having done it many times before, I refused to pay 2TS credits per person last year, none of those restaurants are worth it imho..Had we chosen to I would have waited standby. But we skipped it last year

We have never had a problem getting a seat for the CP without the package or standing in a very long line. You just won't be able to sit in the front rows. There are usually plenty of seats in the back right up to show time. You can also see the show from outside the theater, so if by chance you don't get a seat you can still see it. It will be less crowded on a week day, there will be more locals on the weekend. Of course, the closer to you get to Christmas the harder it will be to get a seat. I would try to go as early in your trip as possible. The CP is definately worth seeing, whether 2TS credits are worth it, only you can answer that. For me, no. I do not do the DP but I will not over pay for a meal to see a free show. Good luck with your decision.

We've seen the performance many times but have only done the package once. The seats were wonderful BUT the dining experience was not. We ate at the restaurant in China which was packed. And we felt rushed. Maybe it was the day or the time, but it was not a pleasant meal. (Food was fine.)

I think it's a complete ripoff. The show is nice enough, but the money/credits they charge for the CP package is absurd.

I agree with the pp who suggested paying OOP for the cheapest lunch available. It's worth it if it's your first time to see the show, IMO. It's less crowded at the earlier performances during the week, so you may not need the package.

During the time of year you are going, you may want to do the dinner so that you are guarenteed a seat.

Last year was my first time and by the time they sat everyone who had a dinner package, there weren't very many seats left. From the sounds of it - there would be 4 adults and 2 children. Keep in mind if you wait, there may not be that many seats together either.

We treated this as a special event with a special dinner and although a little pricey, it was well worth it to me to have a seat closer to the front.

My advise if you do decide on dinner - make sure to have the reservation early enough so that you can be in the queue line for the event.

We didn't think so :sad2:

I really did not enjoy the processional. Maybe it was the narrartor?? Anyhow, we are skipping it this year.

Candelight Processional is one of Disney's BEST holiday celebrations. We were lucky enough to see the legend - Rita Moreno. Rita is like crack....once you see her, you are hooked!

Young voices, Voices of Liberty, small orchestra and 100 castmembers - some so dedicated they have volunteered since the first year! Yes, it is sooooooo worth it.

There are times in December you can get in by using the standby line. We always make it an "adult date night" with our friends and enjoy dinner at TUTU which guarantees us seats.

End the night with Illuminations - a most perfect holiday event.

All the kings that ever reined, all the navies that every sailed, all the parliments that ever ruled put together have not affected life on earth as much as that one.....solitary......life. Tell me that doesn't touch your heart.

Want to remember what Christmas is really all about....don't miss it.

It's worth every penny.

Last year we did it for 2 table credits, but it was the lst time on the dining plan.

When our ds were younger I chose Garden Grill since we were paying oop and with the characters it made the cost more easier to bear.

We dont enjoy standing in lines, but if you dont mind it would be o.k. Just know there is no guarantee of getting a seat. Last year I saw people lining up around 2 for the lst cp show at 5 pm. And this was only the 2nd week of december.

Its just something we budget for, but if you want to pay oop, I would go with the cheapest tier 1 restraunt that your family would enjoy.

I have done a CP pkg every year for the past 6 years now. I love CP..it is the way I love to kick start my holiday season. BUT.....I don't think the pkg is worth 2 TS credits. Yes, I used 2 credits last Dec..but I was with a friend who hadn't been to WDW in over 12 years and I really wanted her to have a great time....standing in the standby line would not have qualified as a 'great time'. So, we ate at Coral Reef.

I'll be doing it again this Dec, but paying cash. I will take a lower tier restuarant, possibly Nine Dragons. I have seen that standby line snake all over the place.....hundreds in it, standing for hours from what some in the line had told me. Standing in line for the pkg people is bad enough..that one is about 40 mins.

We did the package a few years ago but purchased it. We saw the late show then had dinner at R&C out on the patio.

The show is wonderful but it is free and there are usually extra seating. I think our dinner was at 9:00 PM so we got to watch IllumiNations. I think the package included an appetizer, our meal and dessert. We could order anything we wanted from the menu. I will tell you it was almost 11:00 PM when we left the restaurant.

The package is well worth it for us...

Yes, it's overpriced. But, having to wait in a line that can stretch halfway across world showcase is NO fun...

I think it is worth it. When we went last year, we ate at Rose & Crown (food was so, so and it was very loud) but I'm glad we did. When we got in our line for the show it was long but it moved right along. There wasn't much seating left for those who didn't book a package. I think we went to the 6:10 show. I would pay OOP and save the 2 TS.

We did it when it was only 1 TS a few years ago. Great show skipped it last year because I would not stand it the long lines for hours. Instead we just stood and listened for a while. But if you enjoy the Holiday music and you will love this show, very emotional and lots of Christmas Spirit... K. Cameron was our narrator, He did a great job.

I don't think it is worth 2 dining credits. I did it two years ago when it was one dining credit. Last year, I totally skipped it because we didn't think the price was justifiable, cash or dining credit wise. I didn't want to do the standyby line either because it would have been too much waiting. A couple of times I walked by it and I did miss it. This year I am going to pay for it. I think it will be my last Christmas trip for a couple years. So I think it will be worth it.
