Two questions:

1) How early would we need to line up in order to get into the first Candelight Processional performance during Christmas week? We have heard that we should not miss this show!
2) We are using the Disney Dining Plan during our stay - I'm assuming that we cannot use this to obtain Candelight Processional preferred seating? Or is it possible to pay a bit extra to have a meal count as a preferred seating meal?

Thanks!

We've always done the dining package and gone just after Thanksgiving, and even with the reserved seating you have to line up quite early, so I would imagine that Christmas week without reserved seats you would have to line up really early. I've heard of shows where there were so many dining package people that there was no room for standbys. Of course, you can always just stop and stand outside the theater and watch from the walkway.

You can do the Candlelight Processional dining package on the dining plan. The packages went on sale a while ago, so I would call right away if you want to try to reserve one.

The CP is definitely a not-to-be-missed show.

The CP shows for Fridays are now sold out, I know I tried today. Nothing at any location but some may open up if there are CX's, etc.

Thanks for the advice about the CP and the dining plan! I called tonight and was able to get seating at LeCellier (5 pm) for the 8:15 performance on the 27th! It will sure beat waiting in line! :sunny:

We have a ressie for it on Dec 21st. It is filling up very fast, had the ressie for about one week.
I did have to ask for it, was not volunteered.

Know that you will still need to be in a line, for upfront seating, though not as bad as not with a dining package. If you don;t want to wait in line, you can still wind up in the 'preferred' area, just a bit further back, maybe row 10 rather than row 3 or so.

Just how early DO people line up WITH the dining package?

We went last year --got the dinner package with our DDP-- and I don't remember lining up at all. I think we got there shortly before the Processional began.

We did have difficulty getting the restaurant we wanted and ended up at the Rose and Crown.

If you are not there at least 15 minutes before show time they will begin to give out the reserved seats if there is a big stand-by line.

On how early to get there, it mostly depends on who the speaker is that night. We have seen some less popular speakers with lines that weren't long at anytime and other speakers who had people lining up around 2:00 just to get into the first show.
