I am thinking of reserving a PS with the candelight processional package for Christmas eve. Is the package worth it? Or will it be a waste of money and should we just eat where we want and wait in line for seats? I want to have a special dinner for Christmas eve, I am just not sure if I want to do the package as I have a 16 year old very picky eater? Any advice?

If you plan on a nice sit down dinner for Christmas Eve anyway then I would definitely go with the package. Check out the menu online of the restaurants you are considering and choose one that you know your 16 year old will like (or at least like something). Also, I wouldn't wait too much longer to book the CP package for Christmas Eve, especially if you are limited in your restaurant choices. They are booking up fast! Good luck.

If you want to see the CP on Christmas Eve, buy the package. Pick one of the buffets if you have a picky eater - there should be at least something on the buffet that he/she will eat.

Unless you are willing to spend lots of time (up to several hours) waiting in line, you will not get in to see the CP on Christmas Eve without the package. I have heard that there are almost no places left for standby guests during the week between Christmas and New Year's.

I also think you should decide asap - there have been reports that some restaurants have already sold out their times for the package on Christmas and Christmas Eve.

Best wishes -

If you don't plan on queing up 2 hours in advance for seat.To me a great meal and reserved seat are worth the bucks.::yes:: :wave2:

Does anyone have the link to this package, with price info and participating restaurants. Can't seem to locate it for some reason...

You can find the information here: CP

For Christmas Eve, I'd take the package. It will be a wonderful evening celebrating what Christmas is all about!

What about December 5th - 7th (not sure which date we will be doing yet), would it be best to reserve a dinner package, or will it not really be neccessary?.

I guess we have to eat dinner anways, right? Could do the Garden Grill. I think it's a character meal and still very reasonable (28.99 adult, 11.99 child). It's normally 22.99 / 10.99 without the dinner package anyways.

If anyone who has done the diner package before can chime in, we should make sure that we arrive as early as possible even with the dinner package? My wife is really excited about seeing this one.

Thanks in advance for any advice
:D

You might check who the Guest Reader is for the night to decide when to go.

We booked the package on the 4th w/dinner in France.

We decided the reserved seats were worth the extra $

We always get the package and choose the processional at 5 and dinner at 7. We line up at 4 although this isn't really necessary. We enjoy watching the warming up. I would really reserve soon because this is very popular and to us, it is worth every penny.

Keep in mind that the CP package prices include gratuity (though not 6.5% tax) according to allearsnet.com. I'm pretty sure that the regular price for the Garden Grill (22.99/10.99) does not include gratuity. So by my calculations, assuming a 15% gratuity and that Disney calculates tax on the package price (i.e. including the gratuity, which I don't think is appropriate), the premium for a single adult is just under $3--about half of what it looks like at first glance.

Of course I may have screwed up the calculation, Disney may not charge tax on the whole $28.99, or the basic meal prices at GG may include gratuity, etc, etc.
