Anyone been to Cancun recently that could help me pick a hotel? My DH and I are thinking of traveling there this October (something different) and I have no idea which resort to choose. We want to be in the Cancun area not the Riviera Maya area and at an all inclusive resort.....
Anyone? I'd appreciate the input!
Thanks! ::MickeyMo

Crown Paradise was a very good value. It has a great location along the "zona hotelera"(the part with the nice turquoise water and whie sand). It is all inclusive, rooms are big and very nice, you have over 8 restaurants to choose from, and can drink all day if you wish. Avoid Moon Palace or Sun Palace. The first is awfully located adn the food is bad, the second is well located but it is small, rooms are not so nice and it is very small. Also avoid "Rel Pueblito" unless you like to sleep without a/c and in the company of bugs.

Hope this helps.

Thanks! I'd actually looked at the Crown Paradise!
Good to know..... I appreciate it!

We had the same problem a year ago. My wife and I did not have a clue where to stay. After a lot of reading and researching we stayed at Cancun Palace. It was absolutely perfect. We could not have picked a better place. It was our honeymoon and we had a great time. The resort was clean, food was excellent the staff could not have been better. Plus when staying there you have priveleges at all of the palace resorts. We are planning another trip early next year at the same place. they have a website palaceresorts.com I think you will be happy here.

For some decent reviews which you should take with a grain of salt, try www.tripadvisor.com.

Do you want "Cancun" or do you want near Cancun in the resort area of Playa Del Carmen...which is more spread out, not tons of hotels, mostly all-inclusive and a bit quieter?

My DD and a friend and friend's mom went to the Fiesta Americana Condesa in April and loved it. Not sure it's totally AI or if different options for meal plans are avaliable...they ate breakfast and lunch there. She said it was a beautiful hotel....

You'll enjoy Crown Pardise. It looks a lot like Disney's Contemporary Resort. Just two words of advice. 1) Avoid at all costs all the timesharing presentations. Even if they offer you prizes and free meals. You are staying all inclusive so you don't need those kind of things for the harrassment. 2)Get pool chairs early. THey are hard to get by 10:30 am. That applies to any resort you stay in Cancun.

Oh yeah. All three Fiesta Americana resorts are among (if not the best) the best in Cancun along with the Marriott and Ritz Carlton. However, they don't offer all inclusive packages.

And to be honest, nothing spells vacation like being able to splurge in all the food, alcoholic beverages and even shows in a beautiful sunny beach without having to worry about cash, credit cards or tipping.

I have a friend who goes to cancun at least twice a year through this and he swears by the 4 and 5 apple resorts.

We went for a long weekend last fall and stayed at Le Meridian
and it was so nice. We had a meal plan, but I do not recall if drinks were included (we are not big drinkers) but this place was lovely.

It has a wonderful spa, and there were very few children. The rooms were lovely as was the view. On the other hand when the kids were younger we always stayed at Crown Paradise as I felt it really catered to families.

So many choices, good luck

We are in the exact same situation as you,but we will not be traveling till January 05.We have looked and searched till I felt like my head was going to explode and I think if the price is right (when they come out for the charter flights)we will be booking at the Aventura palace and spa resort. It is all inclusive and adult only.It is one of the resorts at www.palaceresorts.com

Last time in Cancun we stayed at the Melia Cancun. Looks like a huge pyramid. It was beautiful. Don't know if they have all inclusive though.

My friends just got back from their wedding/honeymoon at the Moon Palace resort. It's one of the www.palaceresorts.com. They absolutely loved it! They've been to Cancun several times, but I'm not sure if they've stayed there before. I saw their pictures and it looked really nice.
