When I did Cancun at an all-inclusive 9 years ago, the best priced deals came through tour companies. Apple Vacations is a big name; we used one called Magnatour.

I had a travel agent price the tour packages (air, accommodations, and transfers) with a few different companies, as well as price the air and resort separately. Back then, the tour packages beat buying it all separately by a long shot.

I have heard that the Royal Solaris Caribe is a great all-inclusive resort for families.

I've also heard wonderful things about a group of resorts called the "Palaces" (Sun Palace, Moon Palace, Cancun Palace, etc.). Each Palace caters to a different clientele--one of them is specifically geared to families. Do a web search on one of these names and check out the photos.

You'll want to stay there! They're spectacular!

We've been to Mexico before, but not Cancun

I was looking at Apple Vacations- funny you mentioned that!

I'm gonna do some more research....looks like its going to be about 1200/adult 800/kid, which isnt' bad with flights from BOS, 7 nights, and transfers...

thanks!

I have to tell you--I was hesitant about booking an all-inclusive. But wow, were we impressed!

I have a WDW trip in the works for next year, but the year after that, this is what I want to do (i.e., go to an all-inclusive resort in Cancun).

We stayed at the Omni International. The food was very good and so were the drinks and activities. Tips were supposed to be included, but we found that sliding the waiters and bartenders a 10 peso note with each order got us extra special attention.

At a family all-inclusive, they'll have pool and beach games for the kids with prizes. You'll have bikes to use whenever you want. They'll take you and the kids snorkeling.

Keep us posted on your plans. I want to live vicariously through your trip!

Try to find a travel agent who's seen them. AND-try to make
sure the kids programs are always open. Some hotels don't
always staff their kids clubs. We like the Bahia Principe in
Akumal area but alas, their kids club was not open. It really
didn't matter as DS was pretty young and then this hurricane
came along.....

Apple is good. Never choose less than a 5 apple without
personal recommendations from someone who has stayed
there. Make sure your hotel has a great beach. There are
so many that don't, be careful. Lots of dining choices is a
good thing as well. Book your optional dining when you
check in, don't wait-the optionals fill up. A little extra tipping
goes a long way.

We've done all-inclusives before, in mexico and jamaica....BUT I've never found out at this late of a date that we're going again. I'm a compulsive planner, and this isnt helping!

Last time we went to mexico- we ended up at The Reef club- do a search on that- it's a "clothing optional resort"...yup- same group went there..luckily they had limited places where you could be naked...at the time, my 10&13 year old nephews were loving the place, us mom's well... That place was from a travel agent, here locally.

I've checked on trip advisor, apple and 1 other online place...I'm waiting for my reply email quote from apple and the other place. I specified what i wanted, and asked them to pick the resort etc.

I'll let you know what I hear
