Cancelling tomorrow unless a miracle happens

So sad we are cancelling our Christmas Vacation. I have been looking forward to this for six months.

So tomorrow when I get up the courage to cancel. There will be a studio at SSR 12/26 - 12/29 and a studio at AKL-Kidani 12/31 - 1/2.

And lots of sit down meals at all the great restaurants for 3 people from December 25th - January 1st.


Airfare is just absolutley too high. Hubby will be nuts switching resorts that many times. And paying for rooms 12/25 and 12/ 29 - 12/31 and 1/2 -1/4 is just adding so much cost.

Hitting the lottery would be great today!!!!

I'm sorry I know it's hard. Just last week we were at our 31 day mark and I had to cut a few days off of our Christmas trip. At least we still get to go for a few days though. Maybe starting to plan your next trip will help.

Is there anyway you could drive? I know it's a loooong drive...but that could save you some money and at least you would still get to go. I don't know what what resort you staying at for your OOP nights, but there are some good deals on the values out there.. I know we've done some studio nights split with Pop that turned out well during that time year before last. (We've been the last 2 years that time). If you have any points left, keep calling MS (multiple times a day, if necessary)....you never know someone could cancel.

Might I make a suggestion:

Drive! We ( son and I) make a round trip from PA to FL for every shuttle launch. Pack some food and go! It should take between 13 and 14 hours non stop each way .
Since the shuttle is often scrubbed at the last minute we wait until t-16 hours and get in the car and go. We've done this around 20 times and have never had a problem yet. You should be able to make it to south of the border at the SC/NC line and stop to gas up and continue to WDW.

You CAN do it and it's a breeze down I95. You seriously need to drive as it will cost next to nothing compared to airfare.


If you need some pointers getting from PA to FL PM me and I'd be glad to help out. Don't cancel until you've exhausted all possibilities.

Maybe you could plan for next Christmas instead. You would have time to get everything on points, maybe not have to pay cash at all. And plan to drive instead of flying.

that is 7 days you are paying cash for - way too expensive. would definitely cancel unless you got an excellent deal on those rooms.

What a crazy few days!

Thanks for all the hugs and good wishes and ideas.

We pulled this one off and booked the airfare. If it drops I will get a credit for future use.

I booked WLV for 12/25 at switched it later in the day to the BCV but 35 points I nearly fainted. Booked Port Orleans Riverside 1/2-1/4 for a great AP rate of about $100 a night. 12/29 and 12/30 we are going to drive to Tampa and see our friends vacation home and stay with them. It will cut costs. So I am sacrificing OHana for dinner and a Boma breakfast but getting a trip.
