Cancelling resort help..

So we have been booked at POFQ for about 6 months now and I had it all paid off..well this morning with free dining coming out I was able to book at WL for the same price, I couldn't change my reservation because their website was of course not showing my initial reservation. So I went ahead and just booked a new reservation at WL and put the $200 deposit down. My question is if I call them to cancel POFQ can they just apply all the money I have already paid over to my new reservation or will they have to refund my credit card. I mainly used my Disney Visa but also made payments with debit card and my fiance's credit card so it would be rather annoying to have to wait for refunds to go to all of them(I know that sounds petty of me). Any help with be appreciated!!

They will have to refund you, as WL is an entirely separate reservation.

In the past I've spoken to Guest Services whom have been able to transfer over the money I paid on the old ressie to the new ressie

That would be so much easier if they can! I am going to wait and call once all the free dining calls have died down!

I know! It is seriously the worst! I am going to try to cancel tomorrow so hopefully if they have to refund our cards it will be refunded by the weekend so I can pay off our new reservation. I always feel like Disney takes the longest for refunds!

Why? They are the ones that get hit with the CC transaction fee.
