Cancelling Reservation

I may or may not have convinced my DW for a food and wine trip (did small happy dance) end of Oct. The question I could not answer is what if we cancel within the 30 day window what happens.

I read this from the site
All Vacation Points used to make the reservation will be placed in a Holding Account in the Use Year in which the reservation falls.

If my reservation is for this Oct and borrowing from 2023 and we did cancel do my points go in holding for use until Feb 2023 or does it go into holding for all of 2023?

Being the rez falls before my use year I'm not 100% sure how to read the policy.

When is your use year? Since you mention Feb. is that your use year? If so, then Oct. 2022 falls into your 2022 use year which runs Feb. 1, 2022 - Jan. 31, 2023. If so, then points you used for an Oct. visit (banked, current, & borrowed) which you cancel w/in 30 days of your visit will stay in your 2022 use year & must be used by Jan. 31, 2022. Frankly if Feb. is your use year you may have real problems finding inventory should you need to cancel/rebook, Nov. has Thanksgiving, the first 2 weeks of Dec. & around the holidays are notoriously tough to book, Jan. has NYs, marathon weekend, & MLK.

Kinda of what I thought and thanks for confirming. We've done mid Jan on short notice and found it somewhat easy to book. So that'll be my fall back in the event I did have to cancel
