Cancelling reservation

We might have to cancell a reservation for next January. We borrowed points when making this reservation. If I am reading the rules corectly we cannot put these points back in the use year they cam from. Is this correct?

All points will be returned to the UY that the reservation was to take place in. Any borrowed points will have to be used before the end of that UY or they will expire.

No, those points won't go back to back to the UY they came from. The will stay in the UY you borrowed them into, and you will have to use them prior to your UY expiring.

Sorry you may have to cancel your reservation. At least you still have quite a few months to work with. May be things will work out and you can still use the reservation. Or may be a friend or relative can use it.

Like others mentioned, if you really have to cancel, the points will go to the UY you borrow them into. So make sure you use them before the end of the UY. Borrowed points can not be transferred. This may be one of those situations that you may need to consider renting the points.

Other options are renting the existing reservation or renting the points if you plan not to now use these points in the use year they now are in. Good luck!
