Cancelling prepaid Memory Maker voucher

Hi guys, not sure if anyone is in the same situation that I'm in.

Does anyone know if it's possible to cancel a prepurchased memory maker? I've prepurchased memory maker (and photopassplus for Disneyland) in anticipation of our big family trip this month. My intention was to go to WDW with a premium annual pass, then upgrade it to a premier pass before leaving Orlando.

My dilemma now is that I'll have to pay extra to upgrade to a premier pass as they've raised the prices, and the benefits regarding photo downloads, I'll already have paid for in advance! It would be good if I could cancel or get refunds on the memory maker and photopassplus that I will now not need, to partially offset the extra cost of upgrading to the new premier pass.

Do I have any chance, or are they just flat out non-refundable? I've sent off an email to Disney, but who knows when/if I'll get a reply. We leave from Sydney in a week.

thanks patrick, that's encouraging news - I'll call up and ask.

Well... some progress. I sat on hold for ages (the fees I incur in international calls may well wipe out any savings!! But now it's the principle of the thing) and the CM eventually said I would have to speak to Ticketing at 8:30am. Will report back.

I made a lot of calls today. Sat in a lot of hold queues. Got transferred endlessly. But I eventually got it sorted out.

Here's what you want to do.

Memory Maker (Walt Disney World): Call WDW Ticketing on 407 566 4985 Opt 5. The CM was able to refund back to my credit card. Ensure that you point out that you want the refund because of the new annual pass benefits. She did mention that it is normally non-refundable but as a once off deal because of the new passes, they would refund it - a company line I'm sure.

PhotoPassPlus (Disneyland): Call PhotoPass on 407 560 4300 Opt 3. They might want you to send back the CD package that is sent out, but upon hearing that I'm travelling from Australia, picking up the CD package in Orlando, and then travelling to Anaheim to go to Disneyland, the CM told me not to bother sending it back and simply processed the refund.

A good result, despite the ~$15 in international call fees. It was the principle of the thing in the end.

Good luck everyone.

Glad that worked for you and thanks for sharing the details!!

On my family trip last year, my dad and I accidentally both purchased MM even though we only needed one for a group (we each didn't know the other was buying it). Even though it says a purchase of MM is non refundable, they immediately refunded one with no begging of pleading necessary.
