Cancelling POR in Aug. WL week before Christmas will I like it?

We are cancelling our POR in Aug reservation. Found out that we can go in December the week before Christmas. We are thinking about saving enough to stay at the WL. It will be myself, DH, DD, and DS. Also my mom in her own room with an ECV. Please tell me that the extra money will be well spent on the WL and boat convenience to MK. My mom is not happy about switching to WL. She wasn't thrilled about POR. She has never stayed onsite, so she doesn't see what the big deal is. DH and I stayed onsite for the first time last Dec. at POR, and we loved everything about it. Tell me that I won't hear "I told you so" from my mom for the stay at WL.

Hi rkmassa!!! Nothing would EVER stop my mom from saying "I told you so", however, you will not regret upgrading to WL at ANYTIME of the year especially at Christmas!!! It's wonderful. Money well spent. We've stayed at POR also, but nothing is like WL that time of the year. And the weather is going to be more bearable in December rather than August. Well done!!!

We're staying at POR this August, now that there's 5 of us. But we did stay at WL in 2002. Although I haven't stayed at POR yet...I think the WL will be great for your Mom w/the ECV..there are ramps everywhere. And the boat to Mk is wonderful, the paths to the boat at all wood, like a deck and I don't think she'd have to transfer. At POR I would imagine it would be more incovenient and time consuming for her on the buses. Even for the other parks you could take the buses, or catch the monorail at MK to the other parks.
One other point..we were at WL in August, but the holiday decorations at WL are rumored to be the one of the best at the world.
