Time off difficulties  We might not get to go in March. Are we better off cancelling because not sure of future dates, or just picking a date and hope for best? Can you change the date more than once if you need to.

What are the Cost penalities? Which way is better to go? I know we will eventually go, not sure of just when. :earseek:

If you rebook does that affect the pricing at all? higher or lower?

Thanks, very confused here hope this doesn't happen but doesn't look good right now.

MKY,

We just went through this whole deal about 4 weeks ago. We were able to get our cruise pushed back by about a month, and DCL charged us $85 per person, plus the cost difference between the two cruises. My wife and I were originally booked for 9/25, and moved to 10/23...the total added cost was about 600-700 dollars (including our seprately-booked Southwest airfare that went up slightly as well.) If you reschedule for a cheaper-priced cruise, you may actually get money back...but they will always get you for that $85/per. To us, it was worth the money not to have to file a claim with our travel insurance (and to know that our cruise was STILL ON!)

Hope that helps!

It depends. I booked a May 2004 cruise in Jan 2003. Then around September/October 2003 i knew I had to change my cruise date back a year, for May 2005. I contacted my TA, and she said as soon as those rates came out she'd let me know and book me for my same stateroom if available.

Since I had only put the deposit down, and was not within the 90 day(or is it 60 day?) mark for my cruise yet where I'd have to pay the remainder of the money owed for the cruise, I was not charged anything to change the dates! I didn't "cancel" my cruise, I just changed dates. My TA made sure to tell me to keep it booked until the rates/dates came out for 2005 and she could change it. Now, I didn't get charged anything for the change, but of course the rates did go up some to reflect the 2005 rates.

I'm not sure how many times I'd be able to change it this far out w/out being charged, though. If you have a tentative date, I'd go ahead and change the dates, but talk to your TA first to see if you *had* to change it again what the charge would be.

We do not sail until the end of January and I have changed my cruise date once and my staterooms 3 times - all without penalty. I have told my TA that she is a very patient women!

We were scheduled to go in February but had to go earlier in January and it actually saved me over $1000! So I thought I would book a Cat 7 for our new dates - changed my mind on that because we need 2 rooms and it is only a four day. So then I booked 2 Cat 10's - changed my mind again beacuse I wanted natural light! Now we are in 2 connecting Cat 9's and I think I am satisfied, so no more changes!

As long as you are far enough out - I think you can change as often as you like.
