After much thought and discussion, we have decided to cancel our reservations at the fort for Christmas.
When I booked back in June, before we even bought the camper, it seemed like such a neat idea - give the kids a camping trip for Christmas!! But since September, we have been 4 times (just there last week for Thanksgiving), already have reservation for January AND are camping New Years Eve week end at Ft. DeSoto....somehow the over $100 a night for a site doesn't seem like a fair present when the kids are asking for Epic Mickey, Tron Legacy, and on and on and on.....Not to mention the insane amount of work for two nights hauling presents back and forth and trying to see family who thinks we are nuts for loving the Fort so much! This was going to be a surprise for the kids so they have no idea I'm cancelling or that we even planned to go - so no hurt feelings there
So with that...I have reserved a full hook up for 12/24 and 12/25- two nights. If anyone is trying to piece together a ressie or wants to try and get them, we can coordinate my calling to cancel. Just send me a PM and lmk. I know its a long shot but this late in season, its worth a shot if someone really really wants them.
I'm glad to be banking the money...well not really, it will all go to Wal Mart instead of the Fort!
