I am wondering which places are notorious for having a long wait after the time of your ADR. For example, if we have a 6pm ADR at a restaurant, how likely are we to have to wait until 7 for example to be seated? Also, are there any repercussions for cancelling ADRs the day of? I have a feeling my husband will not be willing to wait a long time if we are supposed to have reservations. Lastly, is there someplace in the parks where we would be able to go to cancel an ADR? I can't guarantee that my kids will always want to eat where I picked but I feel it would be more fair to cancel ahead of time than just not show up.

It would be extremely rare to wait an hour past your ADR time if you are there on time. I'm sure it's happened. But in reading at least (does a quick calc) thousand reviews, I've never hear of it. I think the vast majority are seated within 10-15 minutes, if any wait at all.

No repercussions for canceling ADR's the day of, with the excepection of a handful of places that require a credit-card deposit (California Grill, MGM Fantasmic Packages).

The easiest way to cancel day of is to use your cellphone from the park. If you don't have one, guest services can do it for you.

The only times you might wait an hour past your scheduled ADR time is on the day of a major holiday. A few years ago my family & I had an ADR for 7:00 PM on New years eve at Boma & we did not get seated until it was around 8:45 PM.
