Cancelling a trip with borrowed points?

What is the policy for a trip cancelled with some points current use year and some the following?

If you cancel 30 days or less out, the points become holding points and can only be used to book a reservation 60 days or less out. And they expire at the end of the UY. If you cancel 31 days or more out, the points are now all current UY points. You can't unborrow the points that were borrowed. Borrowing and banking are final transactions.

No. Once you borrow points into the current UY, they must be used in the current UY or forfeited... just like if you bank points into next year, you can't pull them back to this UY if you get a sudden yen to visit the mouse (you could borrow points from your next UY for a trip though...)

If I cancel a trip (more then 31 days to check in) but am past the 8 month 100% banking timeframe then does that mean I have till the last day of my use year to use the points or they are gone? If so that means the trip needs to take place by end of UY (not booked past that use year)
