Hi there.
I am pretty sure that I should know this, but have not been in this position before.
I used borrowed points to make a reservation for next year. Unfortunately we may have to cancel (I hope not, but maybe). If I have to cancel, I know the points will be put into this use year, but if cancelling before 31 days from check in, can these points (which will be returned to my current use year) be eligible to be banked?

No, borrowing points (like banking points) is a final transaction. Once borrowed, points stay in the use year you borrowed them to.
 
Canceling within 31 days simply adds the extra restriction of holding…which means those points expire at the end of that UY, regardless if they are current UY points or not and can’t be used for reservations until 60 days or less to check in.

But, once moved, points can’t be moved back…
