Cancelling a package - do I lose $200 deposit

It looks like I will be cancelling my POFQ reservation for May 1-8. I am currently booked under the "kids stay and play free" deal. If I cancel, do I lose my deposit? If this was a "room only" reservation, would I still lose my deposit?

Just wanted to mention that we are still going to Disney, but we will be staying offsite. I am a little sad about this, but DH is not a "disney lover" and promises he will be less cranky if we stay offsite in a suite rather than a hotel room. The good news is that we are staying an extra day!

As long as you cancel your package reservation (that's what the kids stay free is) prior to 45 days before your trip then you'll receive a full refund of the $200 deposit. For room only reservations I think the cancellation of the 1 night deposit is at 5 days prior to your trip.

Did you book the insurance? If you did, you won't be refunded for that and it will be deducted from the $200 deposit.

If you didn't, then the entire deposit will be given back as long as you cancel prior to the 45 day mark.

Package and room only reservatons have different terms.

Packages (room + tickets and/or dining) require $200 deposit and fully refundable prior to 45 days from arrival.

Room only reservations requires a 1 night deposit, fully refundable piror to 7 days. Note however, if tickets were purchased with a room-only ressie, these are NOT refundable. Typically, when you make a room only res and add tickets, it's converted to a MYW package. But you can purchase tickets with a room-only (which would require full payment then) and these would not be refundable.

Also, as others noted, insurance is not refundable.

Finally, since you mention a $200 deposit, sounds like a MYW package.

I had to cancel our trip and my TA told me that i would only get 60 some dollars back so not i have to wait till 2012 comes so that i can change our dates
