Just posting for support, haha...
Just had a massive unexpected car expense, so I'm putting our trip off for a year. I had gotten such an amazing deal at the Poly for August 27-Sep 2. Like, unbelievably great. So it really stings. We haven't been since 2013. I just cancelled all of our ADR's. Feeling pretty disappointed right now. :( :( :(

BUT, this gives me more time to save for 2018, and my TA says we should be able to get a similar deal (fingers crossed!). And I'm getting a shiny new car, which is definitely exciting. And necessary! So, I'll see you all in 8 months or so. Happy planning and vacationing to you all!

ouch! It is hard to put off the vacation when you are looking forward to it! However, a shiny new car sounds good. Hope everything goes well for you.

Sorry you had to cancel your trip! :( Hopefully a new car will help with your sadness. Do you mind sharing how you were able to get such a great deal at Poly?

Sorry you had to cancel. We had to cancel last September due to me having knee surgery and another health issue. I waited until the last minute to cancel because I was trying so hard to be able to go, but ultimately I knew I wasn't going to be up to the walking and heat. I did get lucky and win tickets to a special event Garth Brooks concert, not Disney, but it was very special and lots of fun. I won the tickets and they were for the same day we were suppose to be at Disney-I took that as a sign to sit Disney out.

Just think, next year you'll have your trip to look forward to and still have that shiny car, WIN-WIN!!

Sorry to hear that you have had to postpone your trip. That is always disappointing! I have had to cancel a few myself...it does hurt a little. However, like you said, you are getting a car as a consolation prize (not too shabby) and you will be able to go next year.

Will talk again real soon!

Sorry to read you had to cancel your trip!

As everyone is pointing out, you're getting a new car at least. So you'll have a new toy to play with for a while. The time will pass fast and you'll be on your way to your trip in no time.

(By the way, what car are you getting?)

Mazda 6, providing all goes smoothly at the dealership this week. :)

Ouch! Adulting can be so rough! I hope that with all the extra time you'll be able to plan out an even more amazing replacement trip!

I know that sucks. We are in a very similar situation and also haven't been since 2013. My husband injured his ankle, then ended up with sepsis from the cortisone shots he got at the doctor. Recovery has been rough, and it would take a miracle for him to be able to walk well enough by August (plus we took a major hit financially). Had to pass up a great deal on a 1 BR at Beach Club Villas, but we're only postponing a year. Hoping my daughter will be able to appreciate more in a year, plus maybe all the excitement for Pandora and Rivers of Light will die down and AK won't be as crowded.

So sorry to hear all of that. I hope your husband will be much better very soon! And I agree about Pandora, hoping it will be a nicer time in AK than this year may have been.

Just think how happy you will be this time next year...excitedly planning your summer trip. The time will fly.

We had our dream trip planned for last summer when I became unexpectedly pregnant at the age of 42. Yikes! Since I wasn't about to walk around WDW in July being 8 months pregnant, we cancelled. Now, I am so excited about our upcoming trip at the Poly in July. Glad we will get to see Pandora.

Oh yea...our new little guy has been such an unexpected blessing! Proud of my kids - they didn't care that much about their cancelled WDW trip when they found out they would be getting a new little brother. :love2:

A wonderful reason to postpone. Congrats on your surprise guy. :lovestruc

Aw, I'm sorry you had to cancel. I had to do the same two years ago due to an unexpected health issue with my husband. Adulting does suck sometimes! But enjoy that new car!!
