Cancelled our cruise...how long before deposit is refunded?

Our family has decided to cancel our February cruise as we are wanting to apply this vacation money toward the purchase of a new camper. We'll surely be cruising again, but not for a year or two.

How long does it generally take before Disney refunds our deposit? I booked with Dreams, but I understand that our reservation is actually with Disney?

When I cancelled my one cruise in order to book a different week, they charged my card immdiately for the new cruise, but it took almost two weeks for the deposit refund to appear.

They told me it could take 3 MONTHS(!!) but it was actually just over a week, I believe.

They usually will say within 2 billing cycles of your credit card statement, because they do not know when you are sent your statement from your credit card company. For example they advise they are going to credit you and it takes 10 days, but your statement is issued the next day and you get it in the mail and do not see the credit, because the statement issued prior to the credit taking place - I hope this make sense.

Anyway - you can call your credit card holder over the phone. Typically you will have your credit within 10 days of the day that they advise you.

Hi Tammy,
It takes DCL 7 to 10 business days to post the credit and it may not show up on your statement for 2 billing cycles.

When we had to cancel it they told us it could take up to 8 weeks...and they took over 6 to credit my card.

Funny how they take the money immediately, but can't credit you immediately. They blamed it on the clearing house the money has to go through.
